CH 4: But! (pt.I)

The sun was near to its disappearing time of the day. The huge mansion on the outsides was lit properly and elegantly, lighting the path to the main house fenced with a garden that was like an outline of the building. The lights alongside the pathways inside the premises connected all the areas, the pool, the huge garden that had a shed where a long dinner table was standing complementing the surroundings.

Inside the house, at the entrance itself stood a huge painting. The painting was of the family residing in this huge place. It showed four warmly smiling faces, three men and a woman. Going further inside, the place was spaciously decorated with classy furniture, pictures of the family members, and some decorations matching the calming theme of the house.

The couch occupied by a couple sitting with a serious silence between them. "Are you sure about this, honey?" the wife asked worriedly. "Even if I am not, there is no turning back, is there?" the husband answered smiling gently, but the smile was wasn't a warm one as it should be but a sadistic. "We could only just stop it long ago if we didn't want all this to happen. But we chose to stick to it." added the husband to their unknown pain. Just then they heard some chuckles and shrill screams coming from outside.

They knew it's their kids being chaotic, once again.

The husband sighed heavily, his wife comforted him by saying "Tay, I think that our child will understand. Our baby will comply with, okay...". "I really wish your words come true na, New" Tay pecked his wife on his lips.

Then New stood up to welcome his kids back home. Their son ran giggling to his papa and hid behind him saying "Papa, save your Baby Kana from P'Bai na~". "Baifern come and sit near daddy and Kana just sit with your papa. And don't fight," Tay commanded his kids.

New just hugged his son tight and the affection was returned by his baby. "Son you will get married next month and there is no denying it.", the father just left his wife in tears and kids in shock.

The silence was broken by Baifern who totally did not want the words of her father to be serious. "Dad he's only just a sophomore, how can you be doing this?!" she was not ready to be separated from her baby brother any soon, let alone one month.

"Sorry, but *sigh*... this is happening. The family in law is nice and warm too, you don't have to be worried about not fitting in. They are people both me and I and Papa New know for a long time. Just prepare yourself for it." Tay tried to keep his calm but the sadness of his son leaving him crept his heart. Taking a pause he continued "Your husband is not much older than you. And he is a nice kid don't try to create a ruckus.". Tay could not take it anymore and so he fled o his room, tears rolling down his face silently. New then followed his husband to comfort him.

Gulf did not know what to do so he went to his parent's room and shouted that he was not up for it and then ran to his own locking the door so that no one gets in. He started to cry, running short of breath, panting. His body felt numb from the heartache. He did not want to get married so young, he didn't want to live without his P'Bai. He didn't want to let go of his Daddy and Papa, but they had both already taken the decision to send him off. He could do nothing but cry... after calming down a little he called Earth who upon hearing his friend's hoarse voice became worried.

[THE CALL]

Gulf: Earth...*sobs* w-why are t-they doing this to m-me... *sobs*

Earth: *worried* Ai'Gulf! what happened? why are you crying?

Gulf: do they not love me anymore*sobs*

Earth: Gulf, please calm down a little and tell me what happened.

Gulf: Earth...

Earth: yes...

Gulf: daddy said I am getting married next month-

Earth: WHAT THE FVCK DOES THAT MEAN?

Gulf: I am going to marry someone I don't even know next month and I can't deny it*sobs*

Earth: Okay... now don't talk it over the phone, reach Rosemary in 45 minutes

Earth: there tell me about what is going on okay?

Gulf: *sobs*hmm

Earth: I'm already on my way. Okay...

[CALL END]

Gulf quickly washed his face and took his phone and wallet with him rushing out of his darkroom. He heard his Dad call him but he did not respond to it. He just walked away, without even trying to look back. Only if he had then turned back, he could have noticed that his father's tears explained that he was not the cruel and not understanding person Gulf suddenly thought of him. But he was scared that his Daddy would start another debate, so he chose to go his way.

He was in the living room already and he saw his sister. She had not moved a bit from her seat. Her head facing to the floor, she cupped her own face. Gulf froze as he saw tears falling to the ground from her eyes.

It was the first time Gulf was seeing his P'Bai in tears. She never cried over anything, rather she was the one who made everyone who hurt her baby brother cry. But today it was different, this time it was she who cried. She seemed to be so numb that she could not even sense him coming near her. Gulf, with tears forming in his eyes, tried to reach out to her but failed. He did not want to see her face because of tears. He could not see her like that. He didn't want to see her like that. Just her sobs made his heart to stop beating for a moment if he saw her face he was sure that it would shatter into a trillion pieces.

So he just retreated his hand and went straight to the car driving out of the huge gate. Tears falling down as he drives. He had seen so many things he never wanted to in his life, all at once. He saw tears in his Papa's eyes, he saw his sister cry and breakdown right in front of him. He wiped off the tears that kept blurring his vision.
