***UNIVERSITY***
Baifern had asked Ace to come meet her at the Cafe near the university. She wanted to clear things up on her brother's behalf.
Ace came there right on time. He had always been a punctual kid. Baifern used to like him for he never made her brother wait for him.
"Sawadee krub, P'Bai" Ace was beaming a smile. "I don't think we're close enough for you to address me like that" Baifern used to let this kid call her this in the past, but not anymore.
Ace asked her what she had to meet him for. His smile disappeared completely. She told him, "Please get out of my brother's life. He's already moved on from the past, a long time ago"
"But, he still has something for me, I see it in his eyes" Ace couldn't let go of the past. "He already has someone else. Don't waste your time" Baifern advised him. "Could you at least tell me, who is his new boyfriend?" Ace just wanted to know.
"Not a boyfriend..."
"W-what? T-then wha-at?"
"But, he's now got a loving husband."
Ace was done on the last line. He didn't know what to do. "Who is his husband?" now his voice started to break. "The guy who Gulf must have been standing beside when you approached him" Baifern spoke straightforward. Ace didn't feel the need to stay there anymore, he got up and left.
Ace recalled that there was a guy who stood beside Gulf that day, he had been holding Gulf's hand tightly, protectively. That guy had followed Gulf, when he left. And the two weren't seen ever again after that day. He must really love that guy! You're too late Ace, he thought of himself.
***MEWGULF APARTMENT***
The couple had been sleeping till noon. Mew was the first one to wake up. He had been adoring the cute face before his eyes far almost an hour now. Gulf was sleeping so peacefully as if nothing has happened. If someone saw this face, they won't believe that he has been crying for a week now.
They had been staying home as Gulf was not ready to look at his ex's face. Gulf did not have any feelings towards him anymore, but he was reminded of the things he didn't want to recall. Me didn't know the details, Gulf didn't want to talk about those and Mew was fine with it. Mew was ready to give Gulf all his time.
Gulf was now starting to open his eyes. Mew removed hair from his wife's forehead and greeted him good morning gently. Gulf blushed as soon as he opened his eyes. Mew was smiling at him handsomely but there was some kind of nervousness and worry on his face too.
"Khun Phi, is there something on your mind?" Gulf could tell something was off.
I want to confess my love to you now, but you might not love me back. Now, even your ex is back. Won't you leave me and go back to him. Mew was nervous for this was the time he decided to confess it all. He thought that now he was ready to let his thoughts lose. He had prepared himself to accept any of Gulf's answer.
"Gulf I... I had something to tell you"
"About?..."
"It's about me."
"Go ahead" Gulf gave him an encouraging smile.
"I-I like you... No... I love you. I know this is too much for you to take. I know you think of me as a friend. I will maintain a distance from you if you want. But I want you to know, I really do love you. I have been in love with you for some time now, even I don't know when it started" Mew tried to delay getting a reply. He thought he was ready for rejection but he wasn't. Mew then got up from the bed, looking away from Gulf.
Gulf was surprised and really happy that his husband thought of him just the same way as he did. He just said that he loves me! Gulf zoned out because of this sudden happiness creeping his whole existent body. When he came back to senses, smiling on the inside like crazy, He saw his husband near to the exit of the bedroom. He rushed out of bed, hugging his husband from behind. He hugged him to stop him from leaving. It was time to confess all of his feelings.
What is he doing, hugging me from behind? He should not stop me if he can not reciprocate my feelings for him. Mew was on the verge of tears. He could not be this miserable single sided lover for a long time. He was about to free himself but he heard Gulf speak something. Gulf seemed to be about to cry too. No, I can't let him cry. Mew spoke in his mind.
"I love you too! I love you so much" Gulf shouted. Mew turned to see his wife's face, surprised by the sudden words. Gulf was blushing and hid his face in Mew's neck. "I loved you for a long time. But I was afraid because you said you were straight" Gulf now teared up, making Mew lose his composure too.
"You could have told me." Mew spoke, tears of relief and joy running down his face. "I didn't dare" Gulf gave his reason. "Kana..." Mew called his wife who looked up at him, cupping his face.
"Let's be official. Please" Mew pleaded, tears of joy running down his face. His wife wiped them off for him, cupping his face back.
"Stupid Khun Phi! we're married already. What is more official than that?" Gulf smiled at his husband's stupidity. "I forgot." Mew smiled happily through his tears. He could not believe that his love was reciprocated.
"Can I kiss you?" Mew seeked permission. "You don't have to ask" Gulf replied, smiling happily.
They shared a sweet kiss. It was purely love, no lust. Mew and Gulf had their foreheads resting on each other's. They laughed a little. Their love was re equated. A happy ending to their love story.
