CH 14: Why R U?...

This is a ZeeSaint chapter after all these MewGulf chapters. These two need some attention too.

After two weeks of continuously bugging his brother-in-law, Zee had finally planned a date. Zee now knew all of his beloved's likes and dislikes. He had asked Saint to meet him at 5 pm in front of the university, saying he had something to ask of him. Saint had agreed and now Zee was waiting for him to come.

Saint arrived and he knew that there was something on with this senior and he was interested in knowing what it was. Zee greeted him with a very excited smile. "P'Zee..." Saint tried to enquire something when they were in the car. "Yes?" Zee was overly enthusiastic. "Where are you taking me to?" Saint enquired. "Can't tell you that." Zee tried to control his smile a bit and continued, "Just know that I am not abducting you".

Saint now was suspicious of the motives.

Zee brought Saint to a pleasant restaurant that was Saint's favourite. He had learned from Gulf that Saint did not like formal places and can never be impressed by money. "Phi, this is my favourite place!" Saint excitedly exclaimed, Zee asked "Do you like it?". To which Saint replied, "Ever since I returned, I've been wanting to come here but no one agreed". Zee was relieved that he could do at least this much for him.

"Who all did you ask to come with you?" Zee just asked for no reason at all. "All my friends, but they're all busy with their lovers" Saint sighed, "Before, I still had Kana to accompany me. But this time he said he's got something important to do. Must be cuddling with his husband" Saint was now pouting. "You know that his husband is my little brother, right?" Zee was pretending to be tough. "Right! Tell your brother that he stole my best friend!!!" Saint was pouting like an upset child, Zee could not help but smile at this cute big baby in front of him.

Zee was smiling as he heard Gulf's name. Gulf was the person he was the most grateful to for helping him with all this information. Zee internally was very happy that Gulf was his brother-in-law. Saint seemed to have noticed this sudden beaming smile on the face of the man in front of him; he was worried about this.

"P'Zee..."

"Nong Saint"

"I don't think what you are doing is right" Saint had started to take a liking to this man. But, he had misunderstood something somewhere. "What do you mean? I don't understand" Zee's beaming smile was now turning into a weak one.

Did he know that I'm gonna confess to him. Does he not like me at all, that he wants me stop it? Zee's thoughts were in a mess. He thought that his love would remain unrequited. Internally, he was dying already. But he had to speak his mind out or he would lose his sanity forever.

"Gulf is my best friend. I don't want his life to turn into a mess again." Saint was sad and serious. Zee was confused on what does this have to do with Gulf. "Can you explain with more detail, please." Zee asked politely. Saint thought that he was just pretending.

"Gulf is married to your brother. I don't think it's appropriate for you to like him. You even flirt with him in front of his husband." Saint was very concerned. He had been liking P'Zee for some time now, but he was in for his best friend. "I know that my brother and Gulf are married, and I respect that. Also, I do like Gulf, but as a little brother. Nothing more than that" Zee was now a bit better on knowing that Saint was being serious for a stupid misunderstanding.

"P'Zee. I don't know a man who sticks to his brother-in-law like that. You're always smiling at him. You hug him whenever. You're always looking for him. You're always around him" Saint was now fuming up. "Though, those two don't confess it, I can see it in their eyes that they love each other. And I can't see my best friend getting in any stupid chaos again THE LAST TIME WAS ENOUGH FOR A LIFETIME!" Saint himself was shocked on how his voice was suddenly so loud, he saw a confused expression on Zee's face and that marked the height of his tolerance. He took his bag and stood up to leave.

Watching Saint stand up, Zee understood he had misunderstood the whole situation so badly. Zee called him but he just walked away without stopping for evena second. Zee had no choice but to run after Saint. Zee followed Saint outside the restaurant and grabbed him by his wrist.

"Let go! I am not helping you court him!"

"Who said I'm asking your help to court anyone?"

"Then why do you always treat him like that. Don't play him!"

"Why would I play him?"

"Because you like Gulf!!!" Saint was now tearing up, he even stopped trying to free himself. Zee could see Saint no more fighting back, so he took the chance to confess.

"Why would I ask your help to court Gulf, when I have been seeking his help to court you" by the end of his words, Zee let go of Saint's wrist as he was done with what he planned to. Confess, that's it. Saint looked up at him, now crying. Zee couldn't stand those tears, he pulled Saint into a tight hug.

"Why r u crying?" Zee's tone was gentle. "A-are you say-ying the trut-th?" Saint asked between his sobs. Saint's head rests on Zee's collar as Zee's hands deny to let go of him. Zee's left hand was around Sint's waist, keeping him close and his right hand rested on Saint's head, patting it and ruffling his hair in a trial to comfort him.

"If I wasn't truthful, I won't be here comforting you"

"Y-you really l-like me?"

"No..."

Saint's heart was shattering into pieces. But Zee completed his words.

"I love you"

"W-why?"

"Just because you are you. Nothing special. Now tell me why are you crying?"

"Because I-I thought you d-don't like me"

Zee could not understand what he meant, he asked for a better explanation. Saint huffed for a moment as he gained courage and composure back.

"I-I was crying because I thought you don't like me"

"Why were you worried that I didn't like you?"

"Because....... I like you"

Zee could not believe his ears and so he asked Saint to repeat it once again. Saint blushed and repeated what he just said. Zee could not control himself anymore about not touching Saint but he remembered what Gulf told him. "Phi, don't ever touch Saint without his permission. He hates being forced the most" Gulf's voice echoed in Zee's ears.

"Saint, let's go back to the car. I'll drop you home" Zee passed down an offer that was happily accepted by his beloved.

During the drive, Zee asked Saint to be his boyfriend. Saint's cheeks had roses bloom on them, he agreed. When they reached his Apartment building, Zee bid his goodbye as Saint got off the car, he did not expect anything more than a wave back at him.

But as Saint got off and reached the other side of the car, he knocked on Zee's window. When Zee rolled it down he was surprised by a peck on his lips. Saint then said his goodbye and rushed into the building. Zee was stupefied for a moment, he touched his lips softly and his lips curled up in a soft smile.
