CH 16: Why now?

Mew and Gulf were now growing closer. They had both seen each other at their lowest, this only made them care about one another more than they already did. They had now started to build up courage and were looking for the right time to confess their love for the other one.

***UNIVERSITY***

Everyone in the gang had been teasing Zee and Saint. They had become a couple, a very cheeky one. At times their cheekiness would even weird out Singto and Krist, who could be called the kings of cheekiness. And that day was no exception.

Kao and Earth were teasing Saint as his P'Zee shielded him in his arms. They were walking together, aimlessly. Mew and Gulf were walking at opposite ends of the gang. They still needed time to be brave enough and face their feelings.

Everything was normal and easy going until...

Gulf was walking silently, laughing with his group of friends when he felt someone pat his shoulder. He turned and reached out for Krist's arm as he was the closest to him. Krist turned to Gulf to see what happened. When Krist looked at the person in front of them, he pulled Gulf behind him protectively. An angry frown on his face.

The rest turned their heads too. Kao, Singto, Mew and Zee were confused on what was happening. Earth had a outrageous expression on his face, like he could kill this guy right away. This was Kao's first time witnessing this expression on his boyfriend's face. Saint freed himself from Zee's grasp and walked towards Gulf taking him closer to Mew and leaving him their. Looking at his wife's expression, Mew got an idea that this was someone that should be avoided. Krist was now fisting him palms, Singto got a hint of who this guy was as once his boyfriend had mentioned a situation to him.

Mew was holding Gulf's hand tightly, trying to make him believe it's fine, to tell him that he's there with him. Then the guy walked towards Gulf and Mew, they were fenced by Krist and Singto.

"Miss me, Gulfie?" the guy directed to Gulf. Gulf's voice was breaking, it was like he is in a nightmare. Mew tightened his grip but Gulf wanted him to let go, so he did so. Gulf spoke in a small voice, he seemed to be traumatized by something, "W-what do you w-want A-ace?"

"You, of course" the guy tried to catch Gulf's hand but Earth popped up and yelled at him, "You better scram!". "It doesn't concern you, Earth" this guy named Ace seemed to know him.

Mew was even more confused.

"It's between me and my boyfriend!" Ace was trying to claim Gulf his. A punch flew to his face, Krist for sure. Krist was a pretty violent person. He'd always use his fist more than his brain. Normally his boyfriend would stop him, but today Singto let him free his anger.

"Who the fuck is your boyfriend?!" Saint was trying to hold back. "Gulf! I'm sorry for being stupid back then" Ace had a guilty tone. "I know you still love like before" the word 'love' sparked anger in Mew. "I was too young to understand what love is back then" Gulf was looking at the ground.

"Gulfy..." Ace looked at Gulf unbelievably. "And the thing between us ended long ago. It's been so long that I don't even recall" Gulf could burst into tears anny moment. "You're lying" Ace caught Gulf's expression. "He thinks of you as nothing but a childish nightmare" Saint was still restraining himself. Gulf walked away and Earth told Mew to follow him.

***MEWGULF APARTMENT***

Gulf was sitting on the couch, resting his head on the headboard. Mew did not want to strike a conversation so he just sat there. Mew was looking at his wife who had tears running down his face but wouldn't make a sound.

Finally Gulf burst into tears and tried to scream his frustration away. Mew was now trying to pull the crying person into a hug but his hands were slapped away. Mew couldn't stand this and asked Gulf to let out all his frustration, and he wouldn't leave there. Gulf wanted to hug his husband but he was already walking away from him to the kitchen.

Gulf pulled Mew's sleeve when he was about to pass by him. Mew sighed and hugged his crying wife. Gulf cried his heart out and Mew sat their, drawing circle on his back trying to comfort him.

Gulf cried for an hour and told Mew about his past with Ace.

GULF AND ACE'S STORY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gulf and the other bor were very much in love. They were inseparable then. All their friends rooted for them. .

Gulf always trusted Ace, that he'd never hurt him. Until, one day he did.

Gulf was traumatized. Ace didn't even ever come to apologize. That was when he decided not to get in another relationship.

Mew held him closer and Gulf too tightened his grip. "Don't waste your tears on him anymore." Mew was now getting jealous of the other guy. Gulf looked up at him, "Khun Phi..." his voice was so cute. "All I know is, I am with you right now and I don't want you to talk about someone else when I am here with you." Mew thought that it was better to show his feelings now than any later.

Gulf wanted to let go of his past and move on and love this man in front of him wholeheartedly.

Mew asked his Gulf to stay home until he was fine. Gulf didn't want to be alone and so Mew didn't go to school either. They would order food deliveries and keep sitting on the couch, cuddling for next some day.

It had been three or four days since they went to school. They were still sitting in the living room. Gulf's head on Mew's chest, and arms around his husband. Mew hugged wife tight, kissing his forehead from time to time.

The doorbell rang and Mew got up to look who it was, Gulf was still hugging from behind. Gulf really didn't want to be alone. As they opened the door, they saw Baifern standing there, stressed and furious. She walked in and was relieved to see Mew not leaving her brother alone.

Earth and Saint had told Baifern everything about that person coming back. Baifern knew how sad and depressed her brother could be on this topic and decided to visit him. She did not expect Mew to be with him, hugging Gulf so affectionately.

Baifern knew, when Kana is sad all he wants is someone to hug him all the time. "Good to see you two like that" Baifern said as she smiled a little in relief. Kana was still sticking to his husband like a child to his mother. Baifern was now getting jealous of her brother's husband, he was getting all the attention. But she was also feeling happy that they were acting like that.

Baifern stayed there for an hour before she left.
