Reality strikes

At that moment like some premonition her phone rang interrupting them.

Both of them jerked away from each other. Kathir who could not even gather his thoughts fully before, Mulla stood up quickly without pausing to even look down and ran out the door.  He was left staring at her disappearing figure out the door. He blinked several seconds in shock. It all felt like a dream. The whole thing. He shook himself out of the reverie. The last several minutes were truly life changing he could not believe what had just happened. He then smiled to himself. Despite the interruption he was ecstatic. She had just said she liked him. What could be better? He knew he had his own doubts and fears about what was next, but somehow all that seemed trivial now. Thia moment that was really special.

He suddenly sobered up an irritating thought striking him. His face lost the smile instantly.

Somehow without knowing much about Rajesh or ever meeting him, Kathir felt like he knew the guy. He just knew somehow he was the type who would cause trouble for her. Wanting to check if she was alright.l, He walked up to her room and saw that her door was shut. He almost lifted his hand up to knock and then paused.

He went and sat in the hall. He could not sit still and felt restless. One part of him just wanted to band on the door and ask her to open. He wanted to see her bow, talk to her. After what happened he just had to, but more importantly he wanted to check if she was alright. It was not that guy on the phone right?? It could not be. He sat for about 5 minutes feeling increasingly frustrated then unable to stop himself he went and knocked on her door.

K- Mulla..

She was there in the room sitting in shock. Just when the phone had rung she knew who it was. The moment had been too perfect. She had known when she rushed out the room that it was Rajesh. She had been avoiding his calls and that was always a problem. He would keep calling her until she picked up. She came into her room and picked up the phone debating if she wanted to talk to him or not. She knew she had to sooner or later. Somehow she felt a little too guilty to talk to him now.  She had just been about to kiss another guy. Sure she wanted to break up with him, but shouldn't she have done that first before she moved on.

Before she could come to a decision the call got cut.  She heaved a sigh of relief. Her heart was still racing. She needed a moment to herself before she could face kathir again. She shut the door and sat down. Thunking hard.

After the initial adrenaline rush calmed down, she felt a wave of shame. What had she done?? She was such a fool. She had lied to kathir and worse still told him she liked him even before ending things with Rajesh. It was not right. Not to Rajesh and definitely not to kathir. No.. She first had to tell Rajesh it was over however horrible the conversation would be, then have a conversation with kathir. She had to tell him she had lie. Mulla was usually a very honest person. She hated lies. She had to tell him she had told him just to give herself courage to actually do it. Kathir would understand. He always did and everything they can discuss later. First thing was to have the talk with Rajesh it was the right thing to do. Just as she was coming to a decision her phone beeped with a message.

' I am in chennai almost near your house. See you in a few.. '

It was from Rajesh.
