"Well, everyone rested? Perfect. Now, the hunter exam committee runs this hotel. So I want all of you to make yourselves at home until the battles have concluded." Netero informed.
All the contestants were lined up as well as the examiners and some creepy men in black suits.
'FBI open up' Vera smiled to herself.
A rack was being rolled in by one of the agents.
"For the final phase of the hunter exam you will be competing in a 1 on 1 tournament." He took down the curtain that covered the rack revealing the brackets.
"Wait.. so the last person standing passes?" Leorio questioned the old man.
"That's no fair at all" Rin muttered linking his hands behind his head.
"No. You only need one win to pass this phase" he held up one finger
"So.. the winners will pass the exam?" Vera tilted her head placing a finger on her chin.
"It's the winners who will drop away, and losers who proceed to the next round. Meaning the person at the top" he pointed to the empty spot at the top bracket "will not pass. Make sense?"
"Your saying, only one person will fail the exam?" Hanzo repeated
"Exactly."
A pause was settled as the tension grew deeper.
"Here is the brackets we settled on" Netero announced taking off the sticker revealing pictures of everyone.
Vera looked at her first opponent, she would go against whoever loses the first round between.. Gon and Hanzo.
"Impressive yes? In this format every competitor has at least two chances to win a round"
"Yea but some get five chances to win.. like number 103, 294, and 405" Pokkle pointed out and Vera's eyes lightened realizing she hasn't seen her bEsTie in forever 😻.
