Elsa tried not to blush as Jack finally broke their kiss.
She didn't know what had come over her, but Jacks' sweet words had unleashed an undeniable need within her.
Never before had someone, unrelated to her, cared so much.
While she knew she caused him grief and was a pain in his side, he still came back for her when so many people in her past had walked away.
All this kind of thinking was very dangerous. Already she had been crazy attracted to Jack even when he was an ass.
What the hell would she do once he was actually nice to her?
Fall in love?
She shook her head from its musings and continued to hug Jack.
After he had broken their kiss, she had burrowed against him, not wanting to lose the contact.
She probably looked desperate but she found she didn't care, all of this was perfect.
Also, the man kissed like a god.
She was about to say as much when all of a sudden Jack cleared his throat and began to pull away.
She tried to hide her disappointment in not being able to touch him anymore as best she could.
Now a few feet from each other, Jack seemed to have trouble meeting her eyes.
"Right, well, we should probably continue going forward. While I would say we should head for the coast after the last predicament, the wind channel we rode seems to have taken us farther than I thought. We must have cleared the mountains because we are already on the other side of the country. At this rate we only have a little more than a day until we arrive."
Elsa tried to keep up as he spewed this information.
Looking around, she responded in surprise,
"Your right, we just need to go through one more forest until we reach the village along the eastern coast that holds Aksel's cottage."
Jack nodded at this and began to lift their bags onto his shoulder again.
It was only now that Elsa realized he had been carrying them since the Jerger incident.
Smiling, she reached out to playfully rub his shoulder and said,
"Your turn to be the pack mule?"
But before she had even finished, he shrugged off her hold and looked forward grimly.
"On the way back we will stick to the coast to avoid a future altercation with Jerger. It's probably best that we also keep things professional between us... at least until we finish the mission at hand."
Elsa nodded at this and tried not to feel hurt or embarrassed by this.
Maybe the kiss wasn't as earth shattering for him.
A shame since it would probably be the only thing she thought of for the next month.
Odin knew she also hadn't proven to be an asset or even helpful on this trip yet like she and Kristoff had spouted to Jack about.
No telling the amount of regret he probably now felt in allowing her to come.
As he moved away, she followed, determined to stay focused.

A few hours into the walk, Jack still felt uneasy. He was now walking in front of Elsa and carrying both their bags.
My how things had changed since that morning.
Completely changed.
Whereas she couldn't stand to look at him earlier today, it seemed she couldn't stop doing so now.
Every time he looked back to make sure she was keeping up, her gaze immediately looked away as if she had already been thinking of him.
All in all, the kind of reaction he only wanted after kissing a woman.
So why did he feel so unbalanced?
He was here on a mission, not trying to land a date or a relationship.
He hoped Elsa would put all of this on the back burner like he was, at least for now.
He had no interest or want for something more to develop between them for the moment.
He had way too many other things to worry about and definitely didn't need someone like her to add to the mix.
Belatedly, he wondered if he would even see her again after all this was over.
It wasent as if he lived in Arendelle or even nearby.
Already night was beginning to descend, he would stop them soon to break camp and tomorrow they would enter the village.
