Chapter 1: Leaving Her Behind

It's 6 am, I lay awake in the thinking about how I'm going to college tomorrow and today will be my last day with Junko. I have never really been all on my own before. I always did what she wanted me to do, but now I have to go my own way and make my own decisions in life. I know what you're thinking I should just not go to college and just stay with Junko. You see it's not that easy, in middle school I went to Europe to train to become part of the European military. I only agreed to it so I can protect Junko when I came back, even though it hurt her when I left for 3 years. After training for 3 years, I reunited with my sister and we finished high school together. I was thinking about spending a couple of years with Junko after high school to make up for leaving her by herself in middle school, but she insisted that we go our ways during our college years. She didn't want to get in the way of my dreams, to be honest, I never had any dreams. Anything I did I did it for Junko. She told me that's why we need to part ways so I can find something that I like, do something with my life. I searched online for jobs that might interest me or something that sparked my interest. I felt like I've hit rock bottom and that I'm not getting anywhere in life. Last month has been a cycle of me scrolling on the internet for jobs that interests me until I thought about what I wanted in life. I always wanted to protect people, I hated to see people get hurt. That's when I decided to become a private bodyguard, and no I'm not doing it for Junko. Maybe later in life, I'll be married to someone and I'll have someone else to keep safe, a family.

I check my phone to see the time, it says that it's 8:30 am. I rolled out of bed and stretched my arms. Junko burst into my room yelling at the top of her lungs "MUKURO GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED RIGHT NOW!! WE HAVE A LOT TO DO TODAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!" Then she plopped herself on my bed. "Ok just give me a minute, I'm going to take my shower right now," I said with an embarrassed smile. "Well hurry up, I have amazing things planned today", Junko said as she pulled out her phone to take a picture of us, "say cheeeeeeeeesseeeee!!!!!!!!". I made a blank face, I never smiled in photos. I never had a reason too, to be honest.

Throughout the day Junko and I went to multiple different stores. First, we went to Hot Topic to get me outfits for college. Then we went to Walmart to get everything I need for my dorm room and classes. And to end our shopping spree Junko and I went to eat at our favorite restaurant, IHOP. When we got home it was so hard for me to walk to my room to get ready for bed. I'm going to miss Junko tiring me out with her hyper personality. After my nightly routine, I fell onto my bed and started to think I'm truly going to miss Junko. Tomorrow I'm starting my new life, but there's one last thing I want to do before I start college. I want to get a couple of things accomplished while I'm at college.

I opened my phone to the notes app and titled the note college bucket list. Here are my points:

1. Become friends with someone
2. Become more sociable
3. Do something crazy
4. Overcome my shyness
5. Fall in love with someone

I put my phone down and laid down in my bed, slowly starting to drift asleep.
