Chapter 3: Does She Even Love Me

*time skip to a couple of months later*

I've been going to Hope's Peak Academy for 4 months now, and I can already scratch number 1 one off of my bucket list. I'm really happy about that, not only did I make just one friend I also made another. Her name is Peko Pekoyama, she's going to school here to become a swordswoman. She's the girl I saw in the office when I first got here. Ever since I met Sayaka I've been more open to people. She gives me a lot of confidence and I believe in myself more when I'm around her. I think that I have caught feelings for her. Sometimes at night, I can't help but think about holding hands with her again.

While laying on my bed thinking to myself Peko barges into my room like she owns the place. "Do you know what time it is, classes start in an hour". "Wait it's 8 o'clock already"? I've been laying only bed thinking about my life when I didn't even know I was about to be late for my classes. I grabbed my bookbag and headed out the front door, Peko followed right behind me. On my way there, I saw Sayaka. She was wearing a white t-shirt tucked under a light pink skirt with white knee-high socks to match. Peko soon realized that I was gazing at her so she started to make fun of me, "When are you going to ask her out. You stare at her like you don't share a dorm with her". I would ask her out if I wasn't soo nervous around her. Even if I wasn't shy she already has a crush on a boy anyway. She talks about hanging out with him all the time, his name is Makoto Naegi. He's always seemed to be interested in another girl though, but I never told Sayaka about that". "I can't just ask her out of nowhere, she likes someone else".

After all of my classes, I thought about what Peko had said. Maybe I should ask her out. All of a sudden Sayaka comes bursting through the front door balling her eyes out. "H-He rejected me"! "You mean Makoto", trying to comfort her I put my hands on her shoulder. Sayaka then buries her face in my chest, "He's dating that Kyoko girl, the girl that is always with him other than me". "Well you don't need him, there's probably someone else on campus that likes you". Sayaka looks at me with a blank face, "You're not talking about Leon right"? I made a confused expression, who is this Leon? Is that another person she likes? "You know the f-boy that follows me around everywhere trying to get my number". "Oh yeah, I wasn't talking about him", I was talking about me.

I and Sayaka spent the rest of the day watching movies and eating popcorn. I felt Sayaka slowly falling asleep on my shoulder. Slowly, I put my arm around Sayaka falling asleep in the process.
