May 20, Assembly Hall 12:00 PM
It was a rainy day, with the temperature below 26 degrees, ergo everyone was wearing winter gear and raincoats all while carrying umbrellas. Throughout the day, rain gradually evolved from light sprinkles to heavy showers.
At this point, most if not all students find extremely rainy days to be a good omen; that they don't have to come to school and listen to boring lectures. But unfortunately, due to exams needing to be taken, teachers being behind on grading, and a special announcement underway, the opportunity of a good break was minimum at best.
The only entertainment kids would get in classes is looking at the numerous amount of droplets beating down their windows. It wasn't until this afternoon that things would get interesting.
Students from all different classes and all different clubs gathered in the auditorium waiting for Principal Kobayakawa could come up to the stage.
Ren: So, we're getting a new therapist now?
Ryuji: (indifferent) Yeah...I guess...I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be a massive prick like you-know-who.
Ann: (irritated) Don't say that!
Ryuji: What? I said "you-know-who", not his actual name!
Mishima: (stops texting on his phone) C'mon, guys, cheer up. I'm sure something good will happen.
Ryuji: (glances at the phone) What's with the phone, Mish? I thought we weren't allowed to use it during the assembly.
Mishima: (puts it away) Sorry, it's just that METAS texted me saying they're recruiting a new member.
Ryuji: New member?
Mishima: Yeah, I'm sure he's gonna be a big help to us and—
Shiho: Shh...he's coming!
The principal walks up to the center of the stage where the microphone stood.
Principal Kobayakawa: Good afternoon. Ever since that painful incident, many of you students have voiced concern that we could not bear to overlook. We believe that mental health of our student body comes first, so we've acquired services of a therapist. (Looks to right) The floor is yours, Doc.
Just then another man walked onto the stage. He was a tall man with beige skin, unkempt brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing glasses and a lab coat all the while having his ID tucked away in his pocket while being connected to his landyard. Underneath his coat were a blue dress shirt tucked into his upturned khaki slacks with a checkered dark blue tie. His expression seemed to be calm and friendly.
Man with glasses: Thank you, Principal.(shook his hand) My name is Dr. Takuto Maruki, I have a phD in Psychology. It's nice to meet you all.
Gossiping Female student: He looks kinda cute.
Airheaded Female Student: I know, right~!
Snarky Student: Seems kinda pushover if you ask me.
Maruki tried to bow down only to get hit on the head with the mic, causing students to chuckle.
Maruki: (rubs his forehead) Ow...Sorry!
Mishima: See? Told you! He's harmless.
Ryuji: I still don't trust him. I mean...it's not like he's a member of METAS. He's just some random stranger that just showed up out of school.
