Underneath the gray skies; hidden behind the soft, milky fog, stood the many buildings, trees, and streets all covered in snow. Even the traffic lights were starting to become an unidentifiable white block of ice; accompanied by lumps that looked like cars. Every pond or form of water was frozen solid and the tracks on every station were covered in white snow.
There was little to visible life in what was once considered a populous metropolis.
This was Tokyo's desolate wintery, landscape graveyard.

Inside the frozen palace, stood the blue-eared fox creature Yusuke Kitagawa— now dressed in a dark blue kimono—He was currently painting a portrait that had the colors of eggshell white, light orange, corn silk yellow, and baby blue. All of those colors on the canvas meshed seamlessly to form a snowy landscape in the morning.
Even so, there something was missing. The question was...what was it?
GOEMON: Trees might intrude the beautiful composition, as thou art pursuing for a rock-less, snowy mountain.
YUSUKE: This is true...so then...

YUSUKE: (looks down at his stomach) Does it have to be now?
GOEMON: Methinks we should focus on ailments to maintain our health?
YUSUKE: Methinks... you are correct. But where to look?
Then the other self had an idea.
GOEMON: We shall scavenge for that wonderful place where the humble servants offer delectable Pickled radishes and plums and miso soup.
YUSUKE: Daikoriyama? I guess we can go there. Also, I believe the correct term for them is "waiters and waitresses".
GOEMON: Waiters and waitresses? Perhaps my main mission aside from being your guide is to learn the customs of the modern world.
And with that, Yusuke put down his paintbrushes and pastels and set off to find some grub.

As the artist walked along the course and thick snow, he could feel the gentle cool breeze flowing through him. Ergo, the weather seemed nice and peaceful, he had yet to wonder why this would warrant places to be desolate.
The boy trekked through numerous slopes of snow, the ambiance was that of going atop a ski slope located in Niseko or Sapporo. All the while shielding his eyes from the bright sun.
And with every step of the way, the blue-haired boy would always inadvertently leave red pawprints behind.
YUSUKE: The sun feels warm but could it not be anymore brighter?
GOEMON: Might I make a suggestion? See those clouds in the sky? Thou could form clouds with a flick of a wrist.
YUSUKE: (looks at his hand) Is that so...(puts it up in the air) Here goes nothing...
