CNN news

Lisa Lester: "Good morning and thanks for joining us today on the 7th of October, news has been limited in regards to President Castor Lewis as his anticipated press conference looms.

In other news it’s been a long two years but finally it’s the day of the big race, Dain do you have any news about the celebrities expected to come?"

Dain Rich: "Good morning Lisa, well as you know all star South American champions Aaron Santiago and Marcus 'Romeo' Lopez are here. So are championing Nascar racers Cole Martin, Landon James, Heath Tenor and Aiden Brady.

Despite the high standard of racers the tipped favorite is Aaron Santiago, but as seen in the practice race, Kale Phillips appears to be his serious competition. It’s definitely a race worth watching"

"Thanks Dain"

Kale's POV

Today was race day.

Rest was an essential aspect of focus - a crucial factor when travelling at high speeds on the track. I was not properly rested... Cassie's birthday had run till late this morning. Yet I was on cloud nine.

Cassie

Our relationship had been rocky, hell yeah, but how many relationships were perfect?

Whether or not we were together, there was an undeniable attraction between us and the mixture of booze, music and this attraction had led to...

Lets just say the fact her dress and my clothes were on her bedroom floor explained things.

I checked the time on her bedside clock, 6:04 am. The race was at 4pm I needed to be there in four hours. In other words, I had time to kill.

Turning over I faced her.

Angelic

Full rosy lips, I was selfish as I stole a kiss waking her. Fluttering her eyes open she smiled, "Hey" I whispered.

"Hi" She breathed back the same way. Frowning she looked at the time, "You're up so early, do you need to be at the track?"

"They won't need me for a few hours"

"You don't need to practice?"

Chuckling I began, "Your kicking me out?"

"No, that’s not what I said but you haven't been there in a couple of days"

"I guess. But driving a car is not the practice I need... I just need the right mind space. So I think I'm content right here" I said moving closer wrapping my arm around her.

She blushed. "You’re such a sweet talker"

"As long as I'm the sweetest" I said making her smile. "I should go shower"

"If I leave now, will you come with me?" I asked after I was cleaned up and dressed.

"I'm going prom shopping with the girls, but I'll be there in time for the race" Cassie said after she'd also showered and dressed to go out.

"You better be" I said kissing her on the forehead as I picked up my stuff and walked towards the door.
