Celeste Rowe
I clutched my purse close to me as I entered the police station.
Detective Coogler.
Once I stepped off the elevator, I welcomed myself to the precinct where I immediately found Detective Coogler. Really, I didn't have much time so I had to tell him everything in a matter of about five minutes.
"Detective Coogler," He looked up from a book and eyed me over the brim of his glasses. "I'm Cyleste Rowe, Solana Rowe's mother. I don't have much time, he's on his way home."
"Who's he?"
"My h-husband," I stammered. "He knows where my daughter is. He took her on prom night. He pulled her boyfriend Kendrick and her friend Isaiah into this mess. I didn't want to marry him, but my real husband valued our lives. He owes Luke money; millions. I don't know where he is now, but he's to hand over the money to Luke at twelve o'clock tonight in our home. You have to show up or this could be the end of us and he'll have Solana to himself. Please!" I cried before checking my wrist watch.
Shit.
Without another word, I dashed out of the building and home. I didn't have time to wait for a subway or hail a cab. Luke would be home any second. I needed to finish dinner and act as if I'd been there all day.
I never wanted this for my baby. As a teen, I thought dating a drug dealer was cool, besides, I loved him. But when I found out that Jordan, had been keeping the money for himself as opposed to paying Luke, I wanted out. It was too late. To keep our unborn baby and I alive, Jordan traded us for more time to get the money.
In the end, we were supposed to reunited, but I didn't trust Luke and I didn't think he'd keep his word.
