Although many societies have fallen due to the wrath of socialism, in theory, the economic practice is promising. Some pros of socialism are that in a socialist economy, the system is to get rid of poverty, there is free and equal health care and education, no one (no matter their socioeconomic class) will be discriminated against, and workers will no longer be overworked. In theory, in a socialist society, everyone is equal and every necessity is free.

In practice, however, with a socialist economy, society will be poor. Free healthcare and education are extremely costly which will lead to a bad economy and debt. Not to mention, the reason that socialism never works is because of poor planning, greed and corruption, incompetence, and because there are no chances for an average person to gain anything.

Socialism hinges upon the goodness of the people in power and 9 times out of 10, that goodness is not there or there is not enough of it. In theory, socialism's ultimate goal is to make society a utopia, but in practice, as human beings have shown generation after generation, it is impossible for society to be a utopia.
