It took Bonnie a while to break the spell. Since she had to find out what exactly Cleo did and then reverse the effects.

She crushed herbs together so it would keep Hayley from dying, but her head injury was getting worse.

When Bonnie rushed up the stairs, she grabbed her grandmother's grimwore, chanting a reverse incantation.

It wss silent and everyone looked down at Hayley with a silent hope she'd make it.

Klaus was worried the most. Hayley was turning paler each minute and heard her heart slow drastically. It was so close to stopping. He heard it steady and listened with tears gathering in his eyes as he heard her heart start to slow to a point where she wasn't breathing.

Badump...

Badump...

Badump...

Silence.

At that second he assumed the worse until...

Badump.

Hayley chest rose dramatically and her eyes popped open with a gasp. She sat up with a shock and gasped for air. Caroline and Elena were by her side, hugging her and Klaus stood in the back.

His hand covered his mouth and breathed out deeply. He felt his hand tremble and watched as Hayley sat hunched over with no emotion evident on her face.

She looked up and gave a half smile to them. It was fake. He could tell. She gave him that smile when they first met. How could he not forget?

She used to be so real with him, but at the same time so sarcastic. He remembered seeing her real smile. When they kissed for what seemed like the third time when they confessed to each other.

Hayley looked up at Klaus and everyone parted so he could get to her.

He dropped to his knees beside her, and whispered her name. A stray tear fled his eye, and she pulled him into a hug.

She pulled him as close as she could a whispered his name.

"I thought I was going to die...," she whispered and he held her tighter. "I felt cold. So cold...," he pulled away and kissed her forehead.

"Shh. It's all right. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." He pulled her into another hug, and she cried on his shoulder.

[20 minutes later]

Hayley went to shower so the group of friends took it upon themselves to find out what Cleo hid in that mind of hers.

"What are you hiding Cleo? Like I'd tell you." She scoffed and Bonnie stepped forward with her arms crossed.

"Listen, Cleo. I understand what's It's like to have someone taken away from you, just to get or save someone else.

That happened to my mom. She was killed just to save my best friend." Bonnie glanced at Elena. "But I don't blame her. I know it wasn't her choice and that she'd never want that.

So? I know you and Hayley were friends. You guys can be friends again. Why would I ever be friends with her? Because you were in the first place.

Meaning you didn't blame her for something she had no control over.

But Greta made me realize-,"

Bonnie cut her off quickly. "Greta? As on the woman who sent men to kill your parents. It wasn't Hayley's fault.

And if I asked her, I'm sure Hayley wouldn't have wanted the power anyway. So?

Hayley trusted you Cleo. She told you everything. You were the one she could rely on.

And when you betrayed her, I could tell that she was hurt.

I could tell she was destroyed. To have the one person who loved you, the only one you could talk to, turn on you?

Who wants that pain?

Who wants the pain of having the only person you can go to leave you?

I know I wouldn't."

Bonnie stated and Cleo scoffed looking away. "You can't guilt trip me. I want Hayley to suffer for all the monstrous things she's done.

She's even more of a monster than she was. She's killed innocents. She's killed many. Who to say she won't kill anymore?

I just want justice for what she's done to me and my family."

Bonnie was about to reason when Haypey came in. And she heard it all.

"It's okay Bonnie. She's not going to stop hating me. And it's okay."

Hayley came to stand in front of Cleo who glared up at her. "Come to kill me? No. Cleo, we were friends. Despite the fact that you're the reason Greta killed me, I don't blame you.

So, I've made a decision."

Hayley reached down and broke Cleo's chains making everyone gasp.

"You're free to go. Someonr brought you back for a reason. Whether it be to bring me to them or just so you could live again, I don’t care.

Just have a good life Cleome. And I want you to know, that I am sorry." Hayley moved aside, and Cleo looked at her.

Hayley looked in her eye and Cleo saw the sadness and the pain that swirled in Hayley's eyes.

Cleo walked out the cell, and into the house, and went to the door.

She opened the door and stood there. Looking back, she smiled and walked out of the house.

She knew what Hayley just did back there. And she didn't mind one bit.

"See you around, Hayley."

And with that, Cleo closed the door and walked away from the Salvatore Boarding House.
