Betty knew she was dying, she knew she was going to die and she knew it was going to happen soon but Jughead had no idea. Jughead was her beloved husband who she loved ever so much. The newly weds had been married for a year now and they had been so happy. During their wedding they had promised to never keep a secret from one another but Betty had a big one. A month prior to her tragic death she had been told she had a heart disease and that she didn't have long left. She left letters for all her loved ones and they would soon end up reading them over and over.
It was the night of Betty's death and the young couple were in bed cuddling and they were both so happy.
J-I have something to tell you...
Jughead said, Betty was worried hoping he hadn't found out about her heart disease.
B-What is it Juggie?
She said looking up from his nude chest staring into his green orbs, she used to see the future in his eyes now she just sees her own frail reflection.
J-I wanna have a baby with you.
He said, Betty's heart broke figuratively of course she loved him and she wanted a family with him but she was leaving this earth she couldn't. She starts crying and weeping but keeping a smile on her face to convince him that she's happy. She wants this but she can't have it, he wants this but he can't have it.
J-Is that okay?
He chuckled, she nodded into his chest while he shed a few tears himself. Betty felt guilty she was giving him false hope but at least it was hope. She passionately kissed his lips ever so gently and layer back down in his chest.
B-I love you so,so much Juggie.
J-I love you so,so much too goodnight Betts.
He said before closing his eyes and drifting off into a deep sleep. Suddenly Betty felt as if her whole body was slowing down she became colder and started shaking, the girl knew she was taking her last breaths and she knew there was no place she'd rather be than in her loves arms.
B-Goodbye my love.
She said as she took her last breath thinking of her love.
The next morning Jughead woke up and felt cold which was strange as the radiators had been on all night and they both had blankets around them.
J-Betty it's freezing.
He grumbled while still being half asleep, she didn't reply which was weird for two reasons...
1:Betty was always awake before Jughead.
2:When Betty was asleep she would make a cute little snoring noise.
He decided to turn her around and as soon as he saw her, he gasped and had tears in his eyes she was blue literally blue. He didn't know what to do so he called 911 straight away, he didn't feel much emotion except panic. He moved her onto their wooden floor and started to perform CPR but it was no use she was dead. He held her in his arms crying and crying as he rested his forehead against hers.
Lemony Snicket is a very wise author who once wrote, "It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know our time in this world is limited. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try to readjust the way you thought of things." Of course Jughead , being a book fanatic, had read the quote and if he were to come across it again he would say that it was much, much worse. Of course he was right in some aspects but it is more like when your foot falls through the air you just keep falling and don't land on another stair. You keep falling deeper and deeper into the memories and the depression.
Soon Jughead was waiting in the waiting room to see if the ambulance could have done anything to save her, but of course that could not Elizabeth Cooper had passed away.
J-What? How?
Jughead asked ,more like sobbed, after the doctor said she'd died of heart disease. He felt like it was his fault and he should've noticed and he should've done something but of course he didn't know. He couldn't of known Betty had hidden it so well and she seemed happy, which she was her last days had been her best. Jughead felt so upset he was just sobbing in the chair at the waiting room and suddenly felt to leather arms around him, he knew it was his father so he hugged him back.
J-She's gone dad, my beautiful girl is gone.
F.P whispered words of comfort into his sons ear while he also shed a few tears as he had loved Betty too. She was just one of those 'to know her is to love her' people. She had impacted so many lives and she would continue to after her death.
1 week later
It was a week later and Jughead was sitting on the edge of sweet water bridge wanting to jump Betty's funeral was next week he knew if he wanted to go, he wanted to be their with her. Up there though where her spirit is not where her body is. He had been debating for a while he had read Betty's note and it was sweet and heartfelt but he didn't want a note he wanted her so he was going to get her. He stood on the edge no longer debating he wanted this, he wanted her. He jumped. There she was in a lovely silk white dress in a booth at Pops her hair was free but unlike everyone else in the diner, that was mostly filled with old people understandably.
J-Betty Cooper, what a sight for sore eyes.
He giggled and she jumped up from her booth and ran into his arms wrapping her legs around his torso.
B-What are you doing here Juggie?
She asked caressing his face.
J-I couldn't live without you.
He said and she kissed him again both of them smiling into it like lunatics.
B-I love you Juggie.
J-I love you Betty.
