Lyra had no idea what she was supposed to do. She was bad at making choices. At the end, everything she have done turned out to be wrong.
She followed Long Feng to the secret passage in the lake. It would be a lie that she wasn't freak out. Man herself gave her bad vibes, expecially when he uses force and violence in his bending. Unlike other airbenders, she love fighting with attacks, but he was just cruel. Probably ready to kill someone just because he disliked them.
It was harder to enter in lake then she expected, but she somehow managed. Only important thing was not to get caught, or not to go insane. Joo Dee's creeped her out years ago, and they weren't better now. Expecially when she learned that women are actually robots, or just brainwashed.
After losing in her thoughts, Lyra realised that she had no idea where is she. Long Feng was faster then she expected and her concentration was equal to zero. She decide to go where it feels right, worst scenario was that she would have to fight few agents.
Walking trough halls was easy, but she was sure that something clicked in her head. It was like she heard Zuko's angry scream (was it scream? he was definetly yelling) and it sounded more realistic then voices in her head which would appear from time to time.
Moments later she was sure that voices around her are real. Voice wasn't Aang's, but from the water tribe boy he travelled with. She followed his voice until finishing up in the big room full of giant rocks.
'Hey, you!' water tribe boy saw her, but Lyra didn't pay attention. 'You are Dai Li!'
'We are going to kick her--' girl from earth kingdome started, but water tribe girl cutted her off. 'Toph! But who are you?' she asked strictly and Lyra realised that girl usually had authority in the group.
She just ignored them. Was it bad? Probably. But she needed to see Aang and talking with new people wasn't really her thing.
'You look familiar. Do we know you?' boy asked, but Lyra just walked faster. She was sure that Aang was close, and it was her chance to find him.
'She is light as feather.' bling girl, Toph, said quietly and Lyra tried not to laugh. She knew third jing, but yet didn't figured out who she was, which was obvious.
'Thank you?' she didn't stop, but decide to answer her. Toph seem to be more relaxed then others.
Lyra walked faster and dissapeared after second in next corner. It was dark and quiet so she thought that lake was somehow ending there, but then she heard voices.
'Jet, I am your friend! Look inside your heart!' Lyra wanted to cry. Aang was in next room, and this time, Zuko was out of picture. Firelord was far away and nothing can stop them from meeting after years.
'Do your duty, Jet.'Long Feng's voice rang trough room. She started running, and after few seconds Aang yelled again.
'he can't make you do this! You are freedom fighter.' his voice was as innocent as always, and patience on different level. She was trying to be calm in past few months, but being aware about everything around her for hundred years and not being able to react was stressful.
Lyra runned and she reached small room where were Aang, Long Feng and guy named Jet. She assumed that it was Smellerbee's friend and leader of their group.
She was on the ground, ready to attack, but boy was faster then her. She reached his hook swords and throw one of them at Long Feng, but it was obvious that he would miss. Long Feng noticed sword in air and was about to do something, but Lyra wasn't about to stay silent.
Quickly, she redirected Jet's sword with air in Long Feng's shoulder and reveal herself. But just in that moment, he decide to use his bending. She was aware that he tricked them, but only thing she could do was to try to save Jet.
She hitted him with strong wind in side, but Long Feng's rocks still hitted him. Man turned around and noticed her, and this time, so was Aang. He wouldn't be able to recognize her with bangs on her face and her change of height, but it wasn't matter. They would be able to reunite after.
'I assumed that you were a traitor when I saw you with boy from tea shop. Destiny for all traitors is same, but your tale would be different. I can't ruin reputation of Dai Li's'he said with smirk and Lyra was about to throw up.
Great, she thought, one more tale about myself. It's not like I have four of them already.
'You should note that I come here ilegally. It would add favor in your fairytale.' Lyra said with pride, but it made leader of Dai Li only angrier.
He made mistake Lyra hoped for. Long Feng send same rock at her as he did to Jet. She was ready for his attack, and knowing that man, he would leave only when she become dead. So Lyra gave him what he wanted.
As he send rock at her, she thrown herself at side, looking for him like it hitted her. She closed eyes and Long Feng laughed loudly, obviously in delusion.
'Foolish boy. You chose your own demise. Girl would at least have story to be told.' and then, he leave.
'What am I supposed to do?' Aang said quietly and Lyra stood up immediately. She pulled herself up with bending, standing straight but still unstable.
