Clary's POV

Clary watched as Gabriel was circled by Jace. He stood fast at all Jace's attempts to scare him.

"Wait, what are the rules?" Gabriel asked before he eyed Jace disdainfully.

"First one to cave wins." Clary said. Jace grinned, cracking his knuckles.

"Count of three. One. Two. Thr-" Cecily was cut off.

"WAIT!" Will said bursting through the doors of the training hall. "I want to fight him first."

Jace shrugged, "It doesn't matter who I fight, I always win." Will smiled.

"Then you wouldn't mind facing the best shadowhunter of all time?"

"Ready?"

"One! Two! Three!" Cecily shouted, she seemed to be itching for a fight more than Jace.

"Scared? I'll go easy on-" Nobody figured out what Jace had to say. Will was standing at the door one moment next to Tessa, the next he held Jace dangling two feet from the floor by the neck, with one hand. He slammed Jace into a wall and hissed at him.

"Jace Herondale, you have an enormous ego." Will let him go. Jace swung a right hook aimed for Will's jaw. Will easily ducked and aimed a kick to Jace's left knee. Jace roared, lunging onto Will's back. However, Will slithered out from underneath him, even before they hit the ground. He rolled back lightly onto the balls of his feet, winking at Tessa. Clary saw her blush and laugh at the scene before her.

"Why are you laughing?" Clary huffed angerily.

"I'm laughing because Will's not even close to breaking a sweat."

"Why is that funny?" Clary demanded.

"Jace is too much like Will at heart. Both are too stubborn to give in."

"Why do you speak in riddles?" Clary nearly tore out her hair.

Tessa chuckled as Jace tried to jab Will's gut with his elbow, but Will danced out of the way. 

"I am saying that Will is extremely skilled in what he does."

"But, Jace is the best Shadowhunter, I've ever seen!" Clary squeaked, flushing as red as her hair.

"Then..." Will interrupted, a little breathless, as he held Jace in a headlock, "Feast your eyes on the far superior Herondale and Shadowhunter." He released Jace.

"I give up." Jace said breathing shakily. "Where did you learn to do that?"

"A 130 years in death is along time when all I get to do is repeatedly beat the senses out of Gideon and Gabriel over there." The training room door banged open as Jem stalked in with Sophie as she ran over to Gideon to hug him.

"William Owen Herondale. You're immortal and you didn't tell me?"

"Magnus was supposed to. But, James - " Will started before James backhanded him.

"You don't know the pain of watching someone's life drain out of their eyes with NOTHING you can do! I know what that feels like Will. Then in however many years it takes to kill me, you will know." Jem nearly screamed.

"But, James I would die for you. You could be Brother Zachariah again."

"No. It took me years to gain control, lose music, and try to forget the past, Will. I will not sit in silence forever again William. It is too overpowering. Remember what Woolsey Scott told Tessa? 'Most people are lucky enough to find one great love in their life, you have found two.' Will, can't you see that it was too powerful for us to see you go. It will only destroy Tessa more to see me go." Tessa was crying now,

"STOP. James, when you're gone, I will have Will to watch over me and protect me like you have done so far. Please, James, I can't bear to see you fight. I love you both too much for that."

"Umm..... Isn't Woolsey Scott the werewolf who started the Praetor Lupus?" Maia asked raising a hand trying to ease the tension. Bat chuckled,

"Yes, Maia dear. I'm glad you remembered your own history." He replied. At this the tension between Tessa, Jem, and Will faded a little. But Will knew when it came to Jem's death, it would crush him.
