Why ATP is useful in many biological processes:

 1. Releases energy in small / manageable amounts.

2. Single bond broken which makes energy available rapidly.

3. Phosphorylates (adds phosphate) to make substances more reactive andso lowers activation energy.

4. Reformed / made again.ATP is used in many processes such as muscle contraction, protein synthesis, mitosis, respiration and photosynthesis.
