Chapter 4: Oh My God

Claire's P.O.V. (Continued)

My heart drops. Does he really not know who I am? Should I tell him who I am?

"You're Braden Smith, right?" I ask, making sure it's actually him.

"Yeah." He says. His striking blue eyes meet mine and my heart beats faster than it already was. His face is more defined and skinny than it was the last time I saw him. His shoulders are broader and his hair is longer. His green shirt makes his eyes pop.

My breaths shake. "Braden, it-it's me. It's Claire." I say. Tension builds in my chest as the words leave my mouth.

His ,jaw drops and he exhales deeply, breathing heavy afterwards. "Oh my god."

I smile a little.

"Oh my god. Oh my god. Claire? Is it really you?" He asks as he breathes heavy.

I bite my lip and nod as a small smile creeps it's way on to my face.

"Oh my god it really is you!" He exclaims as he wraps his arms around my waist and picks me up. I wrap my arms around his neck and I laugh. He spins around in a circle and I can feel his smile. "Oh my god. Oh my god." He whispers into my neck. My feet re connect with the ground and we still keep our arms around each other. "Oh my god." He says again. He releases me and looks into my eyes with the biggest shocked smile I've ever seen.

"Surprised?" I ask with a smile.

"My-my uncle t-told me I was-" He tries to say before he stops.

"Picking up a new team member." I finish for him.

"Yeah." He says.

"I hope I'm not a disappointment." I say.

"Never! I didn't even recognize you!" He exclaims.

"Yeah, I-I noticed." I say with a smile.

He quietly chuckles. "I'm so sorry." He says.

"It's okay." I say with a smile as I look down.

He looks me up and down with a smile. "You-you look incredible." He says in awe.

I honestly don't know what he's talking about. Okay, so maybe my hair grew to mid way down my back and I lost a little weight, but 'incredible' is not the word to use.

"You look good too." I say with a smile.

He just looks at me, and he looks shocked. "Oh my god." He says. "You are telling me everything later."

I smile.

He wraps his arms around me again, and I do the same.

"Would you two kiss already?" I hear Shae ask. I let go of Braden and turn around and see Shae holding up her phone with a huge smile.

"Shut up, and cut it out!" I yell.

"I'm sorry! You guys are so cute!" She yells. I blush and turn back to face Braden. My heart continues to pound and my hands continue to shake. I'm still nervous, but I don't know why.

"Oh my god." He says in shock again as he reaches down and hugs me again. I wrap my arms around the small of his back and he wraps his arms around my waist, and he picks me up so I'm level with him. If it's possible he grew taller since the last time I saw him. The top of my head is even with the center of his chest, so I literally have to crane my neck upwards to see his face.

He gently kisses my neck and I let out a small laugh.

"I love your laugh." He whispers into my neck. I let out a small giggle and his grip on me tightens. "I missed you so much."
