2 months later....

( Lani's POV)

" Lay come on your dads here!" I yell.

" Coming" Lay yells back.

For the past couple of months Lay has been hanging out with Quincy. During the day she goes to him and at night he brings her back home. Sometimes I have a uneasy feeling about it just because it's Quincy and you can never predict what he does. But he does a good job with her, always makes sure she's on time, calls her everyday he even offered to take her to school when she starts back.

I open the door to Quincy.

" Aye wassup?" He asks.

" Hi" I say trying to keep it simple. I nod towards the couch letting him know he can sit down.

Even though he's been good with Lay doesn't mean he's good with me. Some stuff just can't be forgiven.

" So how long you gon keep this up?" He asks as he sits down.

I look at him confused.

" You not talkin to me or barely sayin anything." He says.

" I mean there's nothing to talk about if it's not about Lay." I say back.

He looks at me hurt and nods his head.

Thankfully, Lay comes out and runs into his arms.

" DADDY" She yells.

" Hey babygirl" He laughs.

" Okay I'm ready" She tells him.

" Alright let's go" He walks out and turns around.

" Bye mommy, love you" Lay tells me. 

" Love you too baby, see you later." I tell her back.

I close the door and sigh in relief.

Finally some quiet time to myself.

I walk to my bedroom and lay down, not long after I fell asleep.

I wake up to my phone buzzing. 

I look at the caller id and see it's an unknown number. 

" Hello" I answer. 

" Stop being a hoe and own up to the fact that that's not Quincy's kid. We both know you've been a hoe since high school so why lie." 

I look at my phone crazy and put it back to my ear.

" Look I don't know if your a one night stand, a regular hookup, or just a nosey ass bitch. But you got the wrong fucking one to be talkin to sideways, so either do this mind yo fuckin business or come to me like a real bitch a fight." I say and hang up.

I sit up trying to calm myself down.

This bitch woke me up from my nap and talked to me all crazy.

I hear a knock on the door and get up. I realize it's time for Quincy to drop off Lay.

I open the door and fake a smile.

" Hey baby did you have fun?" I ask her.

" Ya I did but I really have to pee so I'll be back." She says.

She runs to the bathroom and I turn back to Quincy.

" What's wrong with you." He asks me.

" What are you talking about I'm fine." I lie.

" Look Lani you may not wanna talk or be around me but I know you. And you know I'm one of the main people who knows you best. Know you can keep lying or tell me what's wrong because either way imma find out cause no one fucks with you. I protect you and Lay with my life." He says.

I look at him in his eyes.

Damn he's too good.

Nope don't do it Lani. DON'T DO IT.

I sigh.

" Fine take a seat you want something to drink?"

Yeaaaa that's the chapter I know it's short but my ex just decided to pop back into my life so currently dealing with that.

But anyway I'll be updating more since it's summer. And no more school to distract me.
