How Could I Forget?
Do you remember when,
We used to hold each other's hand?
So soft and delicate, affectionately,
Together we would stand. How you'd look at me, with such accepting eyes,
With a smile so bright, or beautiful cries?
The air of your voice, if you laughed or screamed,
Almost chaotic, but our perfect harmony? How I'd fall apart,
But you'd hold me close and tell me never fret?
I remember.
How could I forget?Do you remember the soft sweet embrace of our lips,
Our first under the blue lights and the golden wing tips?
How time would stop and we froze for a brief second,
How it felt like an eternity where time would not beckon? And how our break would come as I left,
We'd say our temporary goodbyes as you wept,
As a day without, we missed each other's breath?
I remember, O' how could I forget?Do you remember our evening stroll?
The fireworks lit the sky; the stars would fall.
How any moment spent together was precious,
Even during the bothered and the restless? How even when we disagreed we both came back?
How any thought against another,
Would cause our hearts to weep and crack?
How we would accept each other, for every quirk and every flaw,
And how you told me I'm not alone,
Not anymore?
How both our minds and our hearts,
Beat as one and we're set?I remember. I will always remember,
How could I forget?***
You may have forgotten but I have not,
The pain you gave me is all I got.
I remember, oh I will not forget,
As it will be your downfall, your willful neglect.Like my painful memories,
The blood of my thoughts will be let,
And there will lie your legacy,
Misery and regret.3/2/14

PoetryAssorted poetry from the Black Book regarding love, heart break, and the seemingly endless search for "the other half". As is customary of my works, a few of them contain dark undertones.
