Dead To Me
Looking upon other couples with glee,
Yet your anxiety felt the incessant need to leave,
So you are happy with friends,
Whilst ditching and forgetting me.I suffer and you smile,
I beg and you ignore,
Loneliness all the while,
As I cry for no more. But such happiness is all well and true,
So in due time I wish this curse upon you:
Someone rips out your still beating heart,
As then you will feel as hollow as I too.In the mean time, this reckless hope persists,
Persists in a darkness shrouded in misery.
Yes my emotions think who they want to be with,
But my mind has decided you are dead to me.As dead as the cold of night,
As dead as the mid-ocean tide.
As dead as the devil's sense of right,
As dead as I am now, but not forever,
On the inside.2/1/15

The Black Book: The Last Romantic
PoetryAssorted poetry from the Black Book regarding love, heart break, and the seemingly endless search for "the other half". As is customary of my works, a few of them contain dark undertones.
