1x11: Boom Town

Sage stood at the console talking with Jack and Rose whilst the Doctor stood on a ladder, mending something. A knock on the TARDIS door made everyone stop what they were doing in surprise. Jack nodded then quickly walked over to the door and opened it.

"Who the hell are you?" He asked, then paused as the other person answered the question. "Captain Jack Harkness. Whatever you're selling, we're not buying." Jack responded and tried to close the door but the person pushed it open again and Micky Smith walked inside. Rose quickly smiled at the sight of her boyfriend and Jack rolled his eyes. "Don't tell me; this must be Mickey."

"Here comes trouble!" The Doctor called out. "How're you doing, Ricky boy?"

"It's Mickey!"

"Don't listen to him, he's winding you up." Rose said, walking over to Mickey. He looked at her and smiled.

"You look fantastic." He said as the two of them hugged. Jack looked over at Sage who was still at the console, working on her sonic.

"Aw, sweet. Look at these two." He said, sarcastically. "How come I never get any of that?" He asks Sage who went to respond but was cut off by the Doctor.

"Buy me a drink first." He said, causing Sage to stifle a laugh at her husband's response.

"You're such hard work."

"But worth it!"

Mickey handed over Rose's passport. "Here you go."

"I can go anywhere now." She said.

"We've told you, you don't need a passport." The Doctor says.

"It's all very well going to Platform One and Justicia and the Glass Pyramid of San Kaloon, but what if we end up in Brazil?" She questioned the Doctor. "I might need it. You see, I'm prepared for anything."

"Sounds like you're staying, then." Mickey said, sadly. Rose turned to look at him, noticing his tone. "So what're you doing in Cardiff? And who the hell's Jumping Jack Flash?" He pointed to Jack, who shrugged. "I mean, I don't mind you hanging out with Sage and big-ears up there-" He said, but was cut off by the Doctor before he could finish.

"Oi!" He said, sounding offending.

"Look in the mirror." Mickey responded. "But this guy, I don't know. He kind off..."

"Handsome?" Jack offered.

"More like cheesy." Mickey replied.

"Early twenty first Century slang. Is cheesy good or bad?" Jack asked Sage, who smiled.

"It's bad."

"But bad means good, isn't that right?" He asked, and Sage stifled a laugh, shaking her head at the new companion.

"Are you saying I'm not handsome?" The Doctor asked, offended still.

"We just stopped off. We need a refuel. The thing is, Cardiff's got a rift running through the middle of the city. It's invisible but it's like an earthquake fault between different dimensions." Rose explained to her boyfriend.

"The rift was heal back in 1869." The Doctor added.

"Thanks to a girl named Gwyneth, because these creatures called the Gelth were using the rift as a gateway but she save the world and closed it." Sage said.

"But closing a rift always leaves a scar, and that scar generates energy, harmless to the human race." Jack continued.

"But perfect for the TARDIS, so just park it here for a couple of days. Right on top of the scar and..." Rose said.
