"Doppio! Where are you?! "
Loud voices boomed in the silent forest as all of you wandered aimlessly. It's been thirty minutes already and none of you still found a trace of Doppio, not even a hint of pink in the wilderness. You're worried sick, sweat glistening your skin yet you felt cold. Hell, you're even already on the verge of tearing up if it weren't for Pucci staying by your side to lighten you up.
The air felt colder as the wind blew when Kars came back from looking around the area, his wings reverting back to an arm.
"I can't find him, his scent is faint and when i try following it, it doesn't get stronger as if he's straying further and further. ", Said Kars firmly. You slid your arm off of Pucci's and fell on the ground, your back hitting a tree but you couldn't care less. You'd hate to be so vulnerable at a time like this but your tears already stained your sleeve as you hugged your knees to your chest, remembering the disappearance of your colleague. What if it happened to Doppio too? If Kars can't find him then how will the police even look for him? As you sniffled and wiped your tears away, you felt something being draped on your back. You turned your head to the side and was met by Pucci who looked equally as worried as everyone else.
"If Kars can still smell him then he should still be around. We'll still find him. ", He softly told and wiped the remnants of tears on your cheeks, reaching out a hand for you to grab after he stood up, in which you accepted. Soon, DIO arrived as well.
"He should be around but it's like i can't see him. ", DIO claimed, sniffing the air a bit before stating, "I can still smell him too but it's extremely faint."
Huffing out a sigh, Valentine grunted before proceeding to yell and shout Doppio's name. Kira soon followed while Pucci stayed close to you. Kars and DIO then faced you and nodded before running off to follow Doppio's scent. Once the two left, the white haired man looked at you, squeezing your hand before letting go of it and joining the others in search for a certain man. Soon, you followed despite your throat being already dry and sore because of the yelling you did earlier. The wind blew more and more harshly as you shouted, drowning everyone's voice little by little. It's already beginning to get dark yet it's only 3PM in the afternoon. The skies that was once a bright shade of orange and blue is now dull and gray. Crows squawked and flew in the distance as you wandered further in the forest, an unpleasant pit slowly burning in your stomach.
You came into a stop, all the noises in the background immediately disappeared into nothing when you froze in place. Everything fell silent, voices have disappeared and the wind stopped whistling aggressively. The rustle of the leaves and the twigs on the ground breaking as the guys ran around searching for Doppio ceased. All of those were replaced by the deafening ringing in your ears as you processed and gathered all of your thoughts.
