"You know" Rebekah said as her and kassie walked towards the school. "You should try out for the cheerleading team" kassie stooped and faced the blonde, sniggering.
"Me. Do that" she pointed to the girls doing tricks and flips "I like the sentiment but I'm way to clumsy. Elena once made me join, I lasted a week. Tripped over my own feet and broke my arm"
"Best no to then. I'll see you first period okay" Rebekah waited for kassie's brain the click, her eyes widened "I switched years, I'd much rather be around you than your sister and her annoying little friends" the both hugged.

"I'm glad" kassie said into Rebekah's shoulder "as much as I love Jeremy and Damon, it's good to have another friend and a female one at that"
"I'm really glad I met you kassandra Gilbert"
"I'm glad I met you to, Rebekah mikaelson" kassie gave Rebekah one last smile before she walked into the school.

Rebekah disappeared during third period however, unlike elena, Rebekah sent kassie a detailed text telling her why she left and where she had gone to. At the end of the day kassie watched as everyone left the school, she and Elena had agreed to meet and go for hot chocolate but she was a no show. She dialled Damon's number, knowing he was the only one she could trust.

"Hiya sparky, what do you need" he slurred
"Alright dami" kassie heard loud headache music on the other end "wait where are you and are you drunk"
"I'm out with Stefan, family bonding day"
"Why would elena allow that"
"She didn't know when I took him, to busy with Rebekah"
"What did she want with Her"

"Klaus dead, duh"
"You are so drunk right now" kassie laughed "I'll leave you to it, try not to kill anyone"
"No promises" Damon sing songed. So That's why elena was late, she wasn't coming, Disappointed but not surprised, kassie walked back home and flopped down on the couch, closing her eyes. Jeremy, who was there, walked over at the sound. He lifted her head and sat down, putting her head on his lap.

"I thought you were meeting elena" Jeremy asked smoothing her hair.
"She ditched me" kassie mumbled "no text either, as usual, left me at the school" kassie sat up and gave a half smile "I thought I'd be used to it by now. After 10 years of it"
"You always see the good in people, it's your biggest weakness" Jeremy got up and walked to the kitchen "I'm gonna make burgers, can you stand my cooking.

"Yeah" kassie felt her phone ringing, it was Rebekah, she laughed slightly, elena must have angered her best friend "oh hey, bexs, I hope my sister didn't-"
"Can you come round.....please" Rebekah sobbed, kassie sat up right
"Yeah, I'll be five minutes" kassie ended the call and jumped up from the couch "Jeremy, I'm going out, I'll get tea on the way"
"Fine, your loss"

Once kassie had gotten to the Salvatore house she ran straight in the the living room where Rebekah was kneeling in the middle of the floor crying into her hands.
"Beka" kassie shouted immediately pulling her best friend into a hug "what's wrong, what happened"
"It was klaus" Rebekah muttered
"What was"
"He killed our mother"
