3rd P.O.VBoth teams didn't let each other down. The score kept going in the same pattern, 1 for them and 1 for the other team. The ball didn't drop, no matter how hard it was. The Inarizaki Volleyball club was giving it their all, as well as the other team. Their heavy breathing, they beads of sweat fell down on the floor. Their throat felt like it was on scorching fire, the commentators eyes burned through them. Their eyes followed the blue and yellow colored ball pass around, the ball hitting their arms.
"Miya Atsumu sets the ball to his brother!"
The Battle of Inarizaki High and Itachiyama Academy
The most heated battle, the battle of strongest challengers and the top seed of volleyball. There it goes the nasty spin of Sakusa Kiyoomi's spike that was set by Iizuna Tsukasa, their captain, landing a perfect cross shot. Sakusa slightly smirks from the other side of the court, his sweat dripping from his chin. Komori Motoya had his hands on his knees while bent double, he gives a stare at Akagi Michinari, the libero of Inarizaki High. One of the most heated battles of the history of high school volleyball, for you to watch these people they'd seem like a match of two pro-league teams.
The cheering band of Inarizaki boos at the server from the other side of the court, but Iizuna wasn't intimidated. The devil cheering band of Inarizaki High didn't work on them. The banner 'We Don't Need Memories' was tied tightly in the cheering stands, the banner of Itachiyama Academy that had 'Effort' written on it flew a little. The people went crazy everytime the ball drops. Miya Brothers quick attack was received by the top libero, annoying the twins. Atsumu clenched his jaw, the blond setter had thought that his father was ashamed of his as they were about to lose the match, but their father was proud of his children.
Frustration fills him up.
"Calm down Atsumu." Y/n mutters underneath her breath her orbs noticed his annoyance, it could disrupt the flow of the game.
"CALM DOWN YOU MORON!" Ayumi yells from the stand earning the crowd, the team and the commentators attention. Y/n was relieved as what her friend yelled at Atsumu. "GET IT TOGETHER!" With just a few yells her throat had gone dry, it seemed like there was something that grazed her throat.
"What is this? A support from one of Inarizaki High's manager." The commentator chuckled at the raven haired female who yelled at the team.
"She's scary when she's mad." Ojiro shivered a little, he definitely didn't want to get on her bad side. His eyes focused back on the game. Ojiro was determined to go home winning the tournament, with his head up high, determined to win it for the team, his girlfriend and family.
'Shit! Shit! Shit' Atsumu curses in his mind, he closed his eyes to calm down. 'Calm down Astumu, calm down.' His min pictured Y/n, he immediately calms down, he gets his breath in sync. He opens his eyes revealing a determined look.
'I'm hungry.' Osamu thought, his mind pictured food, onigiris to be exact.
'Did I charge my phone?' Suna's eyes widened not remembering if he plugged in his charger to his power bank. 'Oh and I need to win.' His mind lazily said.
His palm like a cushion, he sets to the ball to Aran, the ace hits it getting through the blocks like walls of Itachiyama Academy.
'Pride, their scared to hurt their pride.' Iizuna analyses, to lose a match for something you love will hurt your pride. Iizuna knew it himself, the taste of defeat. To be able to win you must lose first, thats always the rule.
The Itachiyama coach calls out for a break time and the referee blows its whistle. (Its like that, right?)
Walking towards their bench their managers gave them words of encouragement. "They're humans, no matter how hard it is for them to lose, they're humans. Even if you're going to lose, it will just teach you a new lesson. As long as you breathe, everything's fine." They nodded at her words, the coaches feeling proud of their manager. They wiped their sweat with a white towel, hanging it around their neck.
The coach explains a new strategy with his board. Their ears were only focused to his words, the words of the crowds wasn't heard by any of them. Winning was the only thing in their mind. Foxes versus Japanese Weasels.
"Don't worry, no ones gonna die if you guys lose." Y/n smiled at them, their shoulders became less stiffened. Inarizaki had became more powerful since Y/n became their manager, they improved faster. The foxes craved for victory.
But even so if Y/n is their manager, their techniques or strategy wouldn't matter if they lost their stamina.
Aran's leg muscles felt tighter every time he went for a jump. Akagi's legs were about to be worn out. Atsumu was draining life energy. Osamu was losing his jumping power. Suna was losing control of the enemies, the manipulator is losing control of its puppets.
'More! More! More!' Atsumu's lust for victory grew, they were monsters, their captain knew it well. Their generation was full of monsters, Kita was proud of them. Miya Hachirō who watched in the stands saw his sons' lust for victory, they were monsters in his eyes. Just how much did he miss on his hospital bed.
"Their lust for victory is the strongest I've ever seen." Komori said as they gathered for a celebration for scoring against Inarizaki. Sakusa squinted his eyes, he saw the look on their eyes.
The game went on, the last set was the most amusing to watch.
"Nice kill Hi-to-shi!" The cheering band of Inarizaki cheers for the outside hitter.
Sakusa then scores with his powerful spike.
"Nice kill Sa-ku-sa!" Itachiyama's cheering band wasn't going to lose in the battle of cheering band.
The cheering band of Inarizaki grumbles.
Tick-tock, the time went slow as the Itachiyama lands its final blow. 2people tried to save the ball that touched floor. Akagi was upset he didn't manage to save the ball.
The foxes had lost.
Atsumu was furious at himself, Osamu felt the same emotion like what his brother did. Aran felt guilty as his spikes went weak through the end of the game. Suna felt like he wasn't enough as he didn't get to block Sakusa as much as he thought he could. Akagi was upset he didn't manage to save the ball. Ginjima tamed himself as he couldn't score as much points he thought he could.
"Losing just tells you how much you need to improve." Y/n says as she handed them their water bottles. "Put your head up high, your crowns are slipping off." The greatest challengers may have lost but they didn't lose their pride, there was their precious manager to remind them that. Kita looked proudly at the team, like they were his family.
I just thought of this awhile ago its an Iwaoi headcannon.
"You said hit it until it breaks, right?" Iwaizumi growls at Oikawa's ear as he spanks his ass, Oikawa was bended to the kitchen island, his ass sticking out.
Ain't the best head cannon but it was better when it was in my mind.
