3rd P.O.V.

Her hospital room had a nightstand where a vase of white roses were placed, pure and innocent just like her soul.
He held her hand while he was in deep slumber, his head on her thigh.

"So doc when is my daughter waking up?" A woman's voice was heard causing Atsumu to open his eyes.

"I'd say today or a few more days. It seems like your daughter had hit her head when she may have sunk into the bath tub, one of the sole reasons why she has lost so many blood as well." His eyes shot open realising who the doctor was conversing with. He stood up but didn't let go of Y/n's hand, he bowed 90° it was out of his role to do such thing but he wanted to change himself for Y/n.

"Don't lower your head young man," his head slowly looked up his field of view, he gulped slowly afraid to meet the woman's eyes. His hand slightly trembled, he panicked as he remembered what he said to Y/n when they broke up in front of the whole team, 'what if her mom knows?'

"You're a blessing." Her mother said so sweetly and straightforward. He found the similarity between her and Y/n's voice, they were always so straightforward and calm. He recalls when Y/n used to hum him to sleep, when he made her sung a lullaby with her ever so sweet voice. He then looked up quickly at the woman who stood in front of him with her hand bag on her hands.

"If I had approved your relationship maybe things wouldn't have been like this," she pauses her sentence and looked directly at his eyes. "Do you think that it would have changed the future? If I approved of you, would you guys still be together. If I approved of you, would she be in this state. If I approved of you, what would have happened." Rhetorical questions, questions that can't be answered. His tongue was tied, he knew he couldn't answer them but his mouth was left ajar.

"Your eyes says tells a story, a story of love full of promises, have you kept any of them?" She read right through him like he was a book in a library. He wanted to answer the question, but his mouth refused to move, his mind just processed the question, he knew the answer yet couldn't say anything, because he knew the painful truth of what he had done.

"I'm sorry." His voice like a whisper, it was almost went unheard. The doctor left when he knew the conversation was getting personal, he walked awkwardly out of the door, he fixed his glasses and cleared his throat then left the room,
She smiled softly.

"I've done worse, don't be sorry, your actions are nothing compared to mine. Promise me, that you'll be the one who I'll be watching waiting for my daughter down the aisle while she's holding white roses." He was flabbergasted, white roses... flowers that symbolises purity, innocence, can be used in weddings or even death. He was trying to figure out something with the word white roses like figuring about how Shakespeare uses words or metaphors. He was solving a puzzle.

"She's like a white rose, full of innocence and purity. I'll take my leave, if she wakes up tell her that I said hi." She left the room with the most painful smile, a smile so wide yet so bitter. There was with her words that stirred his mind up, he couldn't find out what the woman truly meant. He didn't move from the spot when she left, still like a statue he didn't even blink.

"Tsumu!" Osamu barged in the room with the others behind him. Suna was panting hard, Ayumi was drained of life, Ojiro was behind her looked so worried, Kita's calm demeanour showed anxiousness. His field of view followed when Ojiro was caressing Ayumi's trembling hands.

"H-how is she?" It wasn't just Ayumi's hand was trembling, her voice and everything. Her eyes refused to see Y/n on the hospital bed, she didn't want to see her friend in that state, she just looked at the tip of her shoes while kicking her toes inside. When the news had reached her ears she had to process it for seconds, it was like her soul left her body. She didn't want to see Y/n dead, she didn't want to see her laying down in a hospital bed all pale.

"She's alright." Atsumu hesitated, he didn't know if that was an appropriate answer for Y/n's situation, cause how could someone be alright when they were a step away from death. Ayumi's hand slightly stopped its trembling and looked at Y/n, her hands stuck out of the blanket that covered half of her body, she saw the scars, the freshly stitched skin. Ayumi imagines the pain Y/n had felt, she looked at Y/n's head to see a bandage that a slight bleeding.

"Heard ya broke up with 'chika." Osamu started a conversation with his brother which Kita found slightly inappropriate as he thought Atsumu would have not wanted it to be talked about. The captain gave him a glance for Osamu to stop but Osamu didn't catch up on it.

"Not like I loved her anyways." He shrugged turning his attention back to Y/n, he let out a sigh. Thinking about his latest ex girlfriend he couldn't find any good memories they or anything that was worth remembering. He didn't miss her at all, nothing has changed, the time didn't go slower like when Y/n and him broke up. Nothing changed just for the fact that his current status was single, it was like she never existed in his life.

No one was shocked by his response, they knew the answer already. Ayumi slightly cheered up upon hearing the break up of Ichika and Atsumu, rather say Nakayama Ami, her shipping game was back on. A flood of setting them up dates popped up on her mind, was it even needed though? The way Y/n and Atsumu looked at each other just a few weeks after they broke up looked like they were about to kiss in any moment, like their eyes were fixated in each-other's lips.

"Oh... that's good." Ayumi said, not even realising she said it. She noticed everyone's eyes were on her like she had done something wrong. Ojiro was shocked of his girlfriend's response he didn't know if he should laugh on that, their eyes blinked multiple times because of shock.

"Hmm." A voice coming from the bed was heard, Y/n's eyes slowly blinked open. She wanted to move her right arm to block the hospital light from going through her eyes but she was too weak for that, her frail arms dropped when she attempted to lift it up. Atsumu crashed her with a hug and mumbled to her ears,

"I promise you, I'll be winning your heart again, I'll be the one proposing to you, I'll be the one who you'll marry, I'll be the one with you till our last breath, I'll be the one with you in the other side, I'll be the one with you in the next life." No one heard what he said to her except for her, what a great thing to hear when you woke up from your suicide attempt.
