Searling City

All the buildings seemed to be made out of this colorful and shiny material. The city was a living rainbow and all the torches outside restaurants burned in different colors. The street looked like a stained glass window and there were cleaners every ten yards. They looked bored as they continually cleaned the streets and kept the city looking like a thousand breathing diamonds.

"This shop is for summertime fashion. Do you want to go in?" Jimin asked. The sea. The sea was clear and looked like the Mediterranean. The sails on the boats were opaque and colorful and cast colorful reflections on the sea. "Sage!"

"Sorry!" I let out a nervous laugh. "Yes, let's go in!"

We walked into the store and it was a fairly typical store with slightly odd but fairly conventional clothing. I spent the next hour trying on everything Jimin told me to. He was very friendly and clever in his jokes. He could carry the conversation and was easy to talk to. We ended up buying five different sundresses that were silky with patterned sheer over dresses. We bought loads of blouses and tops and black and green jeans. They didn't have any blue jeans. I also bought things for my hair and some earrings and bracelets, because Jimin said it was important to make good impressions. He bought a new perfume while we were there. Apparently, Jungkook collected the signature perfumes of each city they travelled to. Jimin was going to give this one to him for a birthday or holiday. It was some rare edition. I left the store in a bright blue sundress with yellow blossoms on it. I was wearing dangling gold earrings and some gold bracelets. We also got my face tested for all the right makeup. Which meant lots of small talk with the makeup artist.

Then we bought shoes. I got brown ankle boots that I was wearing now, knee-high black boots, strappy brown sandals, some blue tenny shoes, and one pair of black heels that Jimin convinced me I might need one day. We bought many more outfits I didn't think I'd ever need, but Jimin claimed were absolutely necessary. He never stopped smiling. I liked him, even if he was overbearingly positive. And he wasn't even the most positive. All these men seemed so happy just to exist. It was good for me to spend time with them. I needed to soak up the happiness of these people.

We bought a few toys and a bed for Jo. They were all made for platypi. They weren't really platypi but they looked very close. The only difference was the tail. They had little stubby tails unlike the beaver tails of normal platypi. They were cute though. A girl let me pet hers and it nuzzled against me in a really cute way. Jimin had used a high squeaky voice to talk to it. Funny how reserved we are to say we love another human, but the first pet we see we claim we'll love them forever. Apparently "good boy" is universal.

Then we were back on the colorful streets. There was so much life in the city. I absolutely loved it. Jimin had made me talk to all the cashiers and had watched the way I interacted with carefully. I smiled and scrambled for nice things to say to all of them. I had the same problem back at home. I never knew what to say to them. After a few stores it has become easier though. Slightly.

"Over here!" Jimin grinned. He ran to a street vendor. Pemsy Sold Here! That was what was written in bright gold letters. "Searling City is known for its pemsy! Go buy us two!"

I walked up to the stall and looked at a bored blue teen with white, long hair. She stood up straight and chewed her gum slower as I approached. She forced a smile.

"Hello. How can I help you?"

"Can I get two of the pemsies please?"

"Of course! That'll be four credits." I sent her over the money with a thought and she smiled. "Thank you!"

Then she handed me the pemsies. They had the appearance of a unicorn horn lollipop but were made of a cinnamon roll like bread. They smelled amazing.
