Chapter 4: Rei Todoroki (Part 2)

It all started out pretty simple, Rei was currently a few years in college and was very excited. She had finally gotten into the college she'd wanted and was no doubt the happiest person at that moment. But all good things come to an end, and unfortunately for Rei, everything went extremely downhill when she met Enji Todoroki.

He didn't go to a college, he was currently the #20 hero and was pretty popular. They met accidentally, she was caught in a villain attack and when the villain tried to attack her, she'd instinctively put up a wall of ice. Endeavor arrived not long after and she asked him to melt the Ice she'd created.

When she told him that she was the one who had created the Ice, he had praised her for acting quickly so she didn't get hurt, and offered to take her to dinner for being late to save her. She accepted, but she didn't know that it was all apart of a scheme. Enji had acted like a gentleman and did all things men were supposed to do on a date. Rei found it sweet, and genuinely had fun, so when he asked for her number, she did and went on her way.

They met several times after that, things were going great. Enji had asked to meet her parents, and though Rei thought it was a bit early for that, she thought he had a good heart and took him to meet her parents. He had plenty of gifts for her parents and siblings, most of them were expensive, and Enji reassured her that it was fine.

He got on their good side after that, and shortly after, they were starting to get more interested in her relationship with the up and coming hero. By this time, they were already dating for about a week. Her family began telling her things like 'he's the one' and 'he would be a perfect husband', which put her under a lot of pressure.

They had already given him the go ahead, so about 5 months into them dating, he proposed. Rei felt pressured and asked if she could have some time to think about it, which he agreed to. After 2 more months, he asked again. She still felt pressured, but reluctantly agreed, they set to be married soon.

Though it was pretty fast, she was excited, she'd never had many boyfriends before, and now she was getting married! About 6 months after Enji had proposed, they got married, and there was a huge wedding, mostly to Rei's request. The newlyweds had bought a house the month prior and were glad to be with each other.

By the time they were married, Rei had finished college and had a degree in chemistry and scientific studies. Around that time, Rei would refer to her life as pretty great. She had finished college and had a husband who loved her, or so she thought.

The first crack in their relationship was about a month after they had gotten married. Enji had asked for kids and she didn't want any, not yet anyway. They ended up arguing, and after a day of not talking to each other, Enji apologized.

Rei thought it to be genuine, and gave in, she had made it clear that they would have 1 child, and he had agreed. The day they attempted to have a child was her first time having sex. Rei trusted him enough to give him her virginity. She knew it'd hurt on her first time, but she would push through it, for him.

The second crack formed during her first time. Enji had not been gentle at all, it hurt like hell during her first time. Even when she had asked him to slow down, he didn't, when she cried her eyes out as he used her, he didn't show any remorse. She didn't feel any pleasure. It really made her think.

Did she really love him? While she was crying her eyes out she thought about how it came to this. She met him during an attack, they went on a few dates, and she took him to meet her parents. That was probably a mistake. She then thought about the many times she was pressured and cursed herself for being naive. Rei then came to a conclusion. She didn't love him. Things went by too fast, crucial steps were skipped, and she was naive, oh she was so naive.

Afterwards, due to the pain of her first time, she had been bedridden for a week. She desperately hoped she wasn't pregnant, but she soon found out she was. When she was bedridden, that was probably the worst week of her entire life. She couldn't get up, couldn't move, she could only lie in her bed.

When she had to pee, Enji helped her, but that was it. He barely brought her water or food, only when she needed it did he bring her food and water. She couldn't cry anymore by the 3rd day, she'd cried so much that she dehydrated herself, which was very hard to do.

Once she was finally able to walk again, she avoided Enji. Rei had called her family the very next day and tried to tell them everything, they had just told her she was feeling sick and should get some rest. After that, she soon realized, she was completely alone.

Once their first child was born, who was a boy named Toya, she was already mentally broken, but she did her best as a mother, loving him with all her heart. Once his quirk was revealed to be like his fathers, Enji started to get angry easier.

He began abusing her, and she started to get worse emotionally. He had forced her to try for another child, using her over and over until she got pregnant, again, she felt no pleasure, only pain. They named this child Fuyumi, since it was a girl.

A few years later, and she had now had another kid, Natsuo. At this point, she didn't even show facial expressions unless she was with her kids. She was tired, tired of everything. The abuse didn't stop, and the now #4 hero was hitting her harder. She had long stopped working by the time she had her second child.

Soon after that, Rei had twins. She didn't remember the name of one of them. Before she passed out, she heard the name Shoto and thought that was his name. Her kids still cared about her, but Enji had isolated them from her most of the time.

She had only seen 4 of her kids altogether, though she was supposed to have 5 kids since she had twins, Rei vaguely remembered Enji referring to him as Dabi but she didn't know what he looked like.

The abuse had finally stopped when Shoto's quirk was revealed, which was shown to be Enji's and her own quirk mixed together. This caused her to realize why she had gone through such misery, a quirk.

Every single bruise, every tear shed, every time she was used as a tool for breeding more children was caused due to something so random, a quirk. This caused her to become even more mentally unstable than she already was, and she hated Enji with every fiber of her being.

Then, the incident happened. She barely even remembers it, one minute she's doing the dishes and the next minute she's pouring boiling water over her own son. Almost instantly she realized what she was doing, and used her Ice quirk to try and help the pain, but by then, it was too late. Enji had already appeared in the room and slapped her out of the way.

A month after, Enji had gotten Rei put in a psychiatric ward. She didn't see her kids besides her firstborn for almost a decade after that, and Enji never bothered to visit. Due to plenty of mental and physical therapy, Rei had been brought to her former self and was able to laugh and smile genuinely. But by then it was too late, she had nothing left for her anymore. No family, no husband, nothing. Her last child had only begun to visit her a year after her therapy was over.
