On the night of June 9th, 1995; a frail lady slowly walked down the barren street, dragging her feet with every step.

The young miss eventually came to a stop and sat down on the side of the street where she took off her black heels, placing them beside a broken beer bottle that was shining brightly.

She closed her eyes and basked in the cool night breeze before hearing a twig snap in the distance; The snap caused her to reach down to her thigh, where her defense mechanism was lying in wait.

The teenager opened her eyes and put her heels back on like nothing was wrong. She stood up and brushed the non-existent dirt off of her silk dress. She had taken about five steps down the sidewalk before she was interrupted by pressure being pushed against her lower back.

"Don't take another step, Alexis Riddle. We have you cornered."

Alexis blew out a breath that lightly contained the smell of alcohol. The girl waved her hand slightly and the next moment, the pressure was gone. "I beg to differ."

She set off running, her heels harshly hitting the broken concrete with each step. The crescent moon and stars moved with her as she escaped from her aggressors.

The lady soon ducked into the edge of a nearby forest. She hid behind a large tree, trying to breathe as quietly as possible.

The group of Aurors came closer and closer to the forest with every passing second. Alexis finally settled down and racked her brain for a spell that would set them back.

"Flipendo," she whispered the spell to herself as her lips formed a small smile that you could barely see.

The Aurors approached the forest cautiously, looking behind every tree at the edge. Some Aurors went further into the forest and began shining the light from the end of their wand everywhere.

The hidden girl waited for the moment when they would be in the same spot. As some came closer, she stepped on a branch making a loud crack.

The Aurors froze in their spots and slowly crept closer to the sound. Alexis came out from her hiding spot and tilted her head. "I thought Aurors were supposed to be smart."

She smiled and sent a large spell towards the group of confused captors. There were thuds and cracks as the lady ran down the street. It didn't take long before she reached the front doors of a shoddy wooden house.

She opened the doors and slipped inside. There was a soft click as Alexis slid down the doors, breathing in the air of raw wood.

The girl sat on the floor in front of the entrance for a couple of minutes; her head hung low as she closed her eyes and let the cold breeze from the ac engulf her entire body.

She ran her fingers through her pitch-black hair, stopping to look at her grey ends. She took off her heels and stood up quietly.

You couldn't hear her footsteps as she held onto the mildly broken beam to ascend the stairs. The exhausted lady passed by multiple nameplates to the side of the doors. Most of the names have been there for years, left by the children who had already been adopted.

'Isabel and Ethan. Lena and Matt', Alexis ran her fingers across multiple nameplates before reaching hers. Her breath stopped for a second as she softly touched the engraved names.

'Alexis and Aramis', She solemnly looks at the name 'Aramis' before entering into the seemingly lonely room.

Alexis closed the door with her foot and set down her heels gently. She quickly pulled her wand out and pointed it sharply at the throat of the presence behind her.

They calmly pushed her wand away, while their other hand reached to turn on the broken lights. The teenager lowered her wand as soon as she recognized that the headmaster of Hogwarts was standing in front of her.

"Albus," Alexis sighed and rubbed her forehead. "I could've killed you."

"I think it is time for you to join us, Miss Alexis."

"Is there a reason for this sudden request, professor?"

"He is believed to be returning." Alexis slowly inhaled. "The boy—Harry Potter, has been receiving subtle signs."

"Oh please. That boy is about as smart as a piece of kelp. I wouldn't be surprised if some people mistakenly called him an airhead."

"Miss—"

Alexis took a step forward as the headmaster stepped back. "I do believe that no one is in danger yet, are they? Tom is not back. I will join you once he is back—not a moment sooner."

"The Order does need you on our side, Miss Alexis."

The lady stepped away from Dumbledore. "I'm not repeating myself, Albus."

"I intend not to make you do so—although, I do think it is a good idea to inform your companions about you leaving. Wouldn't want any suspicions about your whereabouts," said Dumbledore before apparating away.

Alexis flopped on her bed and put her right arm over her eyes.

"Fuck."
