*Onyx pov*
I watched in amusement as team CRDL was getting their asses kicked by Pyrrha. No matter who it is or how, I take immense satisfaction in their expense. Acting high and mighty, only to be proven time and time again of how weak they are. I called dibs on the next fight since I need to shake the rust off. Unfortunately, my rep in Beacon made people afraid to challenge me. Wise, but disappointing. With the exchange students however, there are so many possibilities. I was about to jump at the arena when I heard...
Mercury: I'll do it.
Mercury huh? Well, I suppose this will be an experience.
Mercury: Now, I want to fight... Him.
He pointed at me. I smiled at this. Now I have a chance to see what he and his 'team' really are. A fight lets you see intention, and character.
Glynda: I would recommend someone else.
Oh no! Don't do this to me!
Onyx: It's fine. I love a good fight. But, I feel like it's unfair to do one on one. My recommendation would be to bring your entire team into this.
Mercury: A little cocky aren't you. I can take you on alone thank you.
Onyx: *Laugh* Hardly. But if you feel confident about your own skills, then so be it.
I leapt from the second floor and landed on the arena. I drew my reforged sword...
As Mercury came onto stage, I used the force to sense what I can about him. His aura tells me he is a skilled warrior. This should be fun. I took a blindfold on for a handy-cap. Gotta play fair right?
Mercury: Uh... what are you doing.
Onyx: I don't need eyes for this. I am not the kind of fool who hunts rabbits with a cannon.
Mercury: Pride cometh before the fall, dude.
Onyx: We'll see who's prideful at the end of this.
I did not need my eyes. Eyes can deceive, but aura and the force doesn't. I can sense his allies watching us with concentration. Emerald's aura tells me she is a trickster, I have to wager she has an illusion based semblance. If she wants to trick me, then my blindfold will render any of her tricks useless. He went in for the first attack, but I blocked it with my left arm. I heard a small clank from his leg upon impact of my arm. Now that I think about it, his aura seems to end at the thigh. Artificial legs. I swung my sword horizontally, aiming for his gut. It was a clean hit. That made him stagger. I took the opportunity and used my boot claws to grab his head and slam it to the ground. Upon impact, the ground around where his head hit, caved in and debris flew. That took his aura down from 100% to 20%. Pity, I thought he'd be a challenge. I let him go and waited as he slowly stood back up. I sheathed my sword and crossed my arms.
