Ch.4| report and rescue

~Time Skip~ (Back at the base. . .)

Akari rounded the corner, running into Machi. "Hey, where are you headed? To Feitan?" Akari asked. "He's the one who's taking care of the one shadow beast." Machi nodded.

"What about you?"

"The boss wanted a report on what happened with Uvogin, more than just the report I gave on the call."

She nodded again, saying, "Yeah I'll tell you what information Feitan got out of him once I get back." Akari gave her a curt nod and headed towards the main room.




Upon entering the room, she was greeted by Pakunoda and the remaining troupe members. She caught Hisoka's golden eyes trailing her while she walked up to Chrollo, but as always, she ignored it.

"Boss," Akari smiled, lowering her lead slightly. He looked up from his book.

"Oh, Akari. The report?"

"Yes. The troupe and I were watching Uvo's fight and after he had finished off the shadow beasts, Shizuku was just about to clean up the mess." She paused. "But then chains came from nowhere," Akari finished, looking tentatively at Chrollo. He raised a brow, but didn't attempt to stop her story.

"Then Machi used her needles, and we followed Uvo. Owl used his nen on us and shrank us. He had also brought the rest of the shadow beasts-there was more than we expected-but they're all taken care of."

Chrollo tilted his head towards her. "Did Feitan get any important information from Owl?"

Akari shrugged. "I was on my way over here, but Machi was heading over to him, so they'll be the first to tell."

The boss closed his eyes. "I understand, wait here," he said and Akari nodded, crossing her arms. "Phinks, gather everyone here. I want everyone to hear what Feitan has to say when they are finished." He called and Phinks left.

Akari made her way over to Hisoka, knowing he wanted to talk to her due to the staring. "Hi." She said as she plopped down on the ledge next to him. He hummed without opening his eyes. "So, what have you been doing in the last couple years," Akari asked, curling her knees to her chest and gazing at him.

He exhaled slowly while opening his eyes and turning his attention to her, raking his eyes up and down her body. "Ah, well I joined the troupe, but you knew that." He grinned and she rolled her eyes.

"No, I mean did you do anything mind-blowing?"

"Mmhm," he murmured. "I did retake the hunters exam."

"Wait, really!" Akari gasped, eyes widening at the thought. "How was it? Was it hard?"

He chuckled. "No, my dear, it was simply exciting."

"Did you meet anyone there?"

He let out a small laugh at her enthusiasm. "Does it matter to you if I did?"

Akari opened her mouth, brows starting to furrow but Hisoka raised his finger. "Later. It seems Feitan has come back." Hisoka pointed and Akari could hear the footsteps of people approaching.

"We found out who took Uvogin. And where the merchandise is." Machi announced, Feitan nodding slowly behind her. "The bodyguards of the Nostrade family took Uvogin."

Akari's eyes widened, as she tried to think of where she knew that name. 'that's right, they're famous! but what does the famed nostrade family have to do with uvo? If that's the case, and he really is captured by them, then the chain user must be extremely skilled in nen.'
