Marinette's POV

We went into school, and it was pretty much an average day. There were lots of stares thrown in my direction and Adrien's, but he didn't seem phased. Adrien and I shared almost every class together, so we were with each other most of the day. I said almost because my last class of the day was without him. He walked me to my class before heading to his. I was one of the first people and I sat down at my desk; I sat in the back in the seat closer to the window. I sat down, and put my bag beside me on the floor. I bent over to grab my books for the class while still remaining in my seat.

I was still grabbing my stuff when a husky voice whispered in my ear, "Hello, beautiful."

I jolted forward at the voice. I fell to the ground and caught myself before my face collided with the floor. I hesitated on getting up. I must be paranoid because I knew that voice, but he wouldn't return to Paris after what he did. I looked up to see the last face I'd want to see.

"Glad to see me, right?" He asked rhetorically and cockily.

I couldn't reply. I was frozen on the floor in fear. Why was he back? Why was he in my class? Does anybody know what he did to me? Is he going to tell everybody what he did? I was about to open my mouth and ask one of my questions, but our teacher started the class.

She began with, "Students, we have a familiar face joining us. Luka, would you stand up and introduce yourself to anybody who doesn't know you? Please tell us your name, where you moved to, and anything else you want to say."

He stood up from our shared desk. Everybody turned toward him; I kept my eyes on the desk.

"Hi, everybody," he smiled at his peers. "I'm Luka Couffaine. I moved to London for a while."

The teacher nodded toward the boy and asked, "Why are you back in Paris, Luka?"

He looked down toward me briefly. I didn't look up, but I could feel his eyes on me. They were harsh and I felt a shiver run through my body.

"I have unfinished business here," he told her.

Our teacher seemed confused by his answer, but didn't press him for anymore details. He sat down and his eyes were on me the entire class. I felt immense amounts of pressure on my shoulders. I was extremely uncomfortable.

The class ended and Luka sent me a quick, "See you tomorrow, gorgeous."

I shrunk in my seat at the compliment as he walked out. I took my time to pack up my things. I walked up to my teacher who was also packing up her things since it was the end of the day. She stopped packing her things up to show me that I had her attention.

"Miss...I can't sit next to Luka," I told her shyly.

She looked confused by my statement. "Marinette, I don't understand. Why don't you want to sit next to him?"

I shook my head. I couldn't tell her. I trusted her, but this was on a completely different level than I was comfortable with.

"It's...complicated, but could you please switch the seating arrangement, so I have a different desk mate?" I asked. I crossed my fingers behind my back that she would say yes.

She shook her head. "I'm sorry, Marinette. I'm going to need a better reason than 'it's complicated' to change the seating." When it seemed like I didn't have a response, she collected her things and walked out of the classroom.

I followed out after her. I made my way down the front steps and into the town car. Adrien was just finishing up telling Natalie about his day when I came in. He stopped mid sentence to greet me. He continued on with a story about the frog dissection he had today. He turned toward me once his story concluded.
