"will, you're going to be late," joyce scolded as will chowed on his cereal.

"i know, mom." will ran to the sink with his bowl, almost tripping on the way, and dropped the bowl in the sink. "bye mom, love you." will grabbed his backpack and bolted out of the house.

joyce sighed, "love you, too!"

lucas jogged over to will. "will! i was afraid you weren't going to show up."

"you think i would let you go through a day of this," will gestured towards the school, "alone?"

lucas grinned, "true."

will and lucas were talking about their homework assignments as they speed walked to their lockers.

"hey, faggot!" mike yelled. lucas turned around to look at him. "not you, i'm talking to your little queer friend." lucas and will arrived at their lockers. "are you fuckers trying to ignore me?"

will glanced over at mike, sighed, then opened his locker.

mike leaned on will's locker, making it slam shut. "what, mike?"

mike smirked. "just wanted to see how my favorite queer was doing."

"aww, i'm your favorite? i feel so special," will said with thick sarcasm. mike looked over will's shoulder and saw troy coming over. he then shoved will into the lockers and jogged over to troy.

"and that's your crush?" lucas asked with an amused look on his face.

will's face heats up and he looks towards the ground, "shut up."

"and then you know what she said?"

"what'd she say, dustin?" will asked, barely paying attention to the curly haired boy sitting in front of him.

"she said 'never, not even if you were the last guy on earth.' like come on, a simple 'no' would've been enough to shatter my heart-"

"-wait who are you talking about again? max, right? wait a second, i thought you were gay." james smirked, thinking what he said was clever.

"won't you guys ever come up with something original?" will stared coldly at james.

"will, i don't think you should-"

"shut up, toothless, i wanna hear this." james looked at will, "go on, faggot."

"go on about what? you guys use the same insults all the time, it's getting boring. don't you think?" will was proud of himself and tried to hide his grin.

at this point everyone was listening to their conversation and they were all staring at james, waiting for his response. "w-whatever, gay queer."

the entire class started laughing and snickering. will and dustin didn't know if they were being laughed at or not but they laughed too.
