First Mark and Derek and now this. I'm creating monsters 😂

Okay so I've done a lot of thinking and I've come to the conclusion that I absolutely adore both Amelia and Lexie, and I'm tempted to pair them together in the sequel I've got coming to my other work, As You Are. I don't know how anyone would feel about that, including me, and I value all of your opinions.

So, I've written a sample, and if you like it you can let me know, but if you don't that's okay too, the negative feedback is the point of this tester.

I also want to add I watched all of private practice and I absolutely fell in LOVE with Amelia. But it seems to me that she gives off badass bisexual vibes.

Lexie was always one of my favourites, and I ship her with Mark hard, but at the same time i think she could've been spun into a queer character and it wouldn't have been too surprising.

So, without further a due, I introduce a totally weird and (I think?) original ship consisting of two characters who barely even knew one another.

Amelia's POV:

The first time I'd met Meredith's younger sister had been at the hospital. She was smart, beautiful, and completely caught me by surprise. At twenty three, she was not only mature for her age (much like Meredith) but she was also the kindest, gentlest person I had ever met. She had patience and grace that I knew I'd never possess, that was for sure.

After that, I didn't see her for months. Not until I travelled back to Seattle for the holidays.

It was Christmas, the first Christmas that Derek and Addison had been divorced, and I'd chosen to spent the holidays in Seattle with all five of them; Derek, Mark, Meredith, Addison and Riley.

How could I pass up the opportunity to spend more time with my gorgeous little niece? The only child my brother and his wife (my absolute best friend) had ever had?

When I got to their house, on a rather blustery and cold night about three days before Christmas, I was surprised to see that Meredith's younger sister was also staying with them for the holidays.

She had this essence about her, this loving and kind essence, and the way she listened patiently to Riley's stories, asking questions and getting involved with her, it made me wonder how someone could be this perfect.

"So, how old is Lexie?" I'd asked Addison one night, as we stood side-by-side, doing the dishes together after Meredith had been paged to surgery unexpectedly.

Christmas was a busy time in the ER at Seattle Grace, so Addie had said when Meredith left that she wasn't expecting her home before midnight.

"She's twenty-three" Addie hums, washing a pot with a hell of a lot of soap, as I stood drying plates. "She's starting her surgical internship next year at Seattle Grace. She's a prodigy"

Twenty four, and already a surgical intern? At thirty one, I was a solid seven years older than her, while also being seven years younger than my brother and his ex wife.

Seven seemed to be the cursed number.

I was also barely, just barely, qualified to be an attending neurosurgeon. And she was barely, just barely, qualified to be an intern.

"She's a sweet kid" I say, absently drying plates she handed me, placing them on the counter beside me.

"She is. She's amazing with Riley" Addie agrees with a smile "she might stay with us when she moves to Seattle next year. It'll be nice to have some extra company around"
