Coral's P.O.V
Beep. Beep. Beep.
I let out a huge sigh and groan as I woke up to the most annoying sound in the world. My alarm clock. I started hitting it as hard as I could, causing the annoying beeping sound to finally stop.
My face was still buried into my pillow, and my mind was still in sleep mode, but I knew I had to get up and start getting ready for school. Unfortunately.
I personally loved school unlike most children but, there were certain things I wasn't looking forward to when I got there. I was just thanking the lord that this was my final year. It was my first day of senior year. I really wanted things to be different for me this time, but I knew deep down it wouldn't.
I started to slowly tumble out of bed before my mom would come upstairs and yell at me for making her late for work. She was a doctor, and being a doctor, there's no time for being late when there are lives that need to be saved.
As I was about to drift back into sleep however, I felt my cute little puppy named Luna lick my fingers that were dangling off the bed. I smiled and slowly picked her up and played with her for a little while.
"Oh, Luna. You think this school year is going to be different?" I whispered to my dog as I kissed her on the cheeks and rubbed my face against hers and then held her in the air, pulling away, waiting for her response. She barked and licked my face and I chuckled.
Wait, was that a sign? Luna only did that when she was happy. I hope to god that meant yes.
I heard steady footsteps rush to my door. The door slowly opened and it was mom. Uh oh. Here comes the lecture.
"Mom, don't worry, I'm getting ready," I really didn't feel like arguing with her right now. She loved to do that when I especially just got into being in a good mood.
But, instead of looking angry or yelling, she was timid. She smiled and walked over to me as I carefully placed Luna down to go run around in my room. My room was her favorite place to be.
Then, I got a kiss on the forehead. My eyebrow raised, and confusion displayed visibly across my face.
What the shit was this?
"I just wanted to tell you good morning baby. I know the first day of school may be nerve racking, but you're going to do great. Breakfast is going to be ready soon. Take your time and knock em dead girl." She smiled at me.
