Coral's P.O.V

It was Monday morning, and I was currently on my way to school. I don't know what overcame me this morning, but I decided that I was going to walk into the school building and own my shit. I was going to stand out this week more than I ever did before.

Two can play this game Blair Maddison.

I was going to have everyone's necks break including Blair's. I was going to dress how I usually did but add a big bucket of confidence to it. I wanted everyone to realize I was more than just a shy girl.

I mean with the cheerleaders out of the way, I could finally be myself, not be reserved, not hide any freckles or any features on my face. I was going to own everything I was sure about. I was going to show everyone that I was confident. People were already shocked at me even being at a high school party.

Imagine them when I stepped into the building with confidence. This time I will not be staring at the floor. I will be looking straight ahead. Watch. Me.

As I shake off all the nervousness off me, I let out a deep sigh and put my shades on that went with my outfit and Kanken backpack, and pushed open the school entrance. When I walked in, everyone's jaw dropped to the floor. I couldn't help but smirk.

Not only was I looking good, I was feeling good. I started on my way to meet up with Kayla by her locker as we usually did, smiling and confidently owning my shit as I walked.

Even the teacher's heads snapped. They could not believe that their innocent smart little honors student was finally stepping out of her shell.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL F GURL! You look like a literal GODDESS!" Kayla screamed causing everyone to cover their ears. This time I didn't care if people were staring, I just smiled as I took off my shades. I was now standing with Kayla by her locker.

"Really? Because even though, I seem not like a train wreck, this thong I'm wearing is in deep." I whisper rambled. Kayla's jaw dropped. That's right. I was wearing a thong for the first time in my life.

My mom got me adult clothes and undergarments because she felt like I was growing into a woman now. Even my mom wanted me to jump out of my comfort zone. She encouraged it and I was finally giving everyone what they were finally hoping for.

"Girl, what happened to you? Did someone kidnap my best friend and replace her with a confident one!" She hit me excitedly. I chuckled and smirked as I leaned back on the locker next to hers.

"I have a confession to make." I whispered. She stared at me curious.

"That Blair has a bigger influence on you than me? Oh, we know. I mean, I've been trying to get you like this for months. Turns out, all you had to do was fall in love with the right girl." She rambled. I raised an eyebrow at her and nearly blushed. That's not what I wanted to confess.

Wait, does she seriously think that Blair is influencing me? Well, she could be right.

"No, that's not the confession. I was on face time with Sam last night and I guess that face time call impacted me to act a little different." I admitted. Kayla raised her eyebrow at me, even more curious.

"Sam? Is that why you didn't look at the meme and tik toks I sent you?" She whined. I hit her and she winced.

"Focus Kayla. I'm trying to show Blair what she's missing out on." I smirked. Kayla held my hand and jumped up and down excitedly.

"Dude, even you looking like a bum can show Blair what she's missing out on." Kayla rolled her eyes and laughed. I blushed. Why does everyone think Blair likes me so much? If she did she wouldn't have made out with a random girl.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"Blair likes you Cora. Whether you believe it or not, ask the softball team. You should have seen how she was acting when you left the party early. She was rambling to us all drunk and high about you. I'm talking, she reeked of weed and vodka." Kayla chuckled. Huh. So she was right about being half drunk and half high. Probably even more than that.

"Okay, but that doesn't excuse her going to a strip club." I folded my arms. I was trying by every means to show that Blair was in the wrong here. Kayla raised an eyebrow at me again.

"So, Sam didn't tell you that she just said all of that to get you pissed? They didn't actually go to a strip club. Alex told me they went to an arcade themed restaurant." Kayla chuckled. I stared at her in disbelief. Was Blair starting to look innocent here?

As soon as I was about to mention something else, there they all were, just like on the first day of school. The jocks walking through the halls like they owned the entire school. First came the football players, then came the cheerleaders, then came the-

"OMG CORAL. You need to be on the yearbook for the hottest style! You're so pretty!" Mandy Windlefield came out of nowhere and snapped a photo of me as I was trying to pay attention to the jocks coming in. Mandy was the daughter of Mrs. Windlefield, my 8th grade AP science teacher. Mandy was also in charge of yearbook and the leader of the newspaper club.

"Mandy can you please turn the flash on your camera off? It's blinding me." I asked rubbing my eyes. She chuckled and snapped another photo of me. With the flash on. She makes me angry sometimes.

"Did you hear? Karla, Jessica and Meghan are moving schools! I heard that they're getting their things and returning their school stuff after school on Friday. After that day, we'll never see them again." She rambled. She's also best friends with Cammie, the leader of the gossip column.

I was shocked when she told me. I was glad she did. I didn't have to be anxious over the next day of whether they would come back to traumatize me again. I was free, and it was all thanks to Blair.

Blair?

I shifted my attention from Mandy to the jocks in the halls. My eyes met Blair's just in time like on the first day of school. Honestly, like every day. She scanned me up and down and smirked before she continued high fiving everyone calling out to her and raising their hand for her along with the rest of the softball team, who waved at me. Sam winked at me as she nudged Blair.

"Oh will you look at that. Romeo and Juliet. But without the tragedy." Mandy teased me. I blushed instantly and looked back at her and then looked back at Blair who was now out of sight. Kayla was amused by Mandy's remark.

"You know Mandy, this is the first time I actually agree with you." Kayla high fived her. I just shook my head at those two. I think I like it better when they don't agree with each other.
