Chapter Twelve : That's a god awful thought.
July 2018

Rose hit Connor in the back of the head as the three best friends stood in line at starbuck.
Now Jay and Connor tried to protest but it was the cheapest place in the mall and Julie had dragged the three of them out here. With Flynn, of course.

"Jezz, what was that for?" Connor suddenly got very defensive of himself, jumping back a bit.

"Hey, James." A preeky voice caught all three's attention. No one talked to them. Not since James was little and his mom hung around THE Trever Noah.

Jay spun on his heels to face the voice. "Carrie? H-hi?" He didn't really know how to respond. Carrie was Trevor's daughter but even since Julie had grown in the music program Carrie cut the twins off.
"Why don't you come sit with us?" Carrie gave a side smile, resting her hand on her hip, the rest of dirty candy, Carrie's band, flocking in behind her. The question just made Jay's confusion grow.

Jay looked back to his friends, his hand slipping into his pocket, not sure what to do with himself in the situation. "I-I'm good."
Carrie gave a fake pout, "Too bad. Maybe next time."
"Yeah-Yeah, too bad?" He was back to questioning every word that left his mouth. "What was that?"

Connor handed Jay his drink, laughing so much that people at the back of the line keep giving him looks. Rose was almost as histartic biting down on her tongue not to be heard. "Dude." Connor clapped his best friend on the back, "I think Carrie, like crazy Carrie, has a thing for you."

Jay huffed out, "One she needs a better nickname two, That's a god awful thought."
Rose let go of her tongue letting out the laughter, "Yeah, Satan herself has a thing for my best friend. Next step is kissing in a corner when the two of us aren't here."
"You mean like you and Connor do when I'm  not here?" Jay took a sip of his water just to make the redness on Rose's face deepen.

Connor nearly choked, "What?"

"For one, I know the two of you are holding hands under the table, and that when I told Connor, Rose liked him; the two of you talked. Badda bing badda boom, dating behind my back."

Rose moved her left hand so it was on the small table the three were sitting at, "You're good Molina." Her voice cracked at the begging still red with shock and embarrassment.

"Guys, relax, I really don't care." Jay leaned back in his chair, "Besides it was bound to happen. Rose, you're only friends are two guys, and your straight, you were gonna end up with one of us." He gave a shrug opening the text from Julie on his phone.

"What?!" Rose started to get very defensive of herself, "I have other friends."
    Connor scoffed, "Name one."
    "Uhh Julie?"
    "Doesn't count, she's my twin."
"Fine, Flynn."
"She practically Jay's third sibling. Try again."

Rose huffed out in defeat, "I have other friends." She muttered under her breath, sipping her coffee.
