Chapter Twenty-Three : Revenge comes with Karma
September 2020

Reggie shook his head looking down at the people partying below the upper leave of the hotel. "I don't know about this." He really was just saying what the whole band was thinking. If Stephanie still had a nervous system she was sure it would be fried.

"Well if you get scared, you...you can always hide behind me." Alex tried to reassure his friend but his effort fell short with his next sentence, "I'll be hiding behind Steph."
Luke shook his head as Alex ducked behind Stephanie, "You guys need to grow up. We're gonna get back at Bobby."
Stephanie rested her chin on her head, her elbow resting on the golden railing. "Yeah because that's sooo mature Luke." She meant it. This whole plan seemed to be pointless.
"Either way, he needs to pay for what he did to us. What he did to you Steph."

"Yeah." Alex leaned over to Reggie coming out from behind Stephanie, "I'm still gonna hide behind her."

Willie popped into existence in between Luke and Stephanie, "We're all good"
Alex turned from scared to excited, turning to his new ghost friend, "All right cool. Hey just so you know we have, like, an hour, because we got a gig with Julie."

"Oh yeah, no worries. Let's go." Willie led then down from the upper leave, the red carpeting making Stephanie feel like she was in a movie. Willie ran his hand over the gold-steel railing, "Normally I'd have my deck and I'd backboard this heavy 20 set, but tonight.. We have company. Hope you guys are ready for this." Willie sat on the railing sliding down it making the band run down the stairs to catch up.

When they got to the bottom Stephanie looked up. Her eyes landing on a sliver guitar resting in a stand on stage. "Wow." She rested her arms across her stomach, trying to cover as much of herself that she could. Looking around the room filled with fancy dresses and champagne towers.

Alex nodded his head in agreement, "Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?"
Luke pulled his jacket forward, taking two steps in front of his friends, "I think we're a little overdressed." Stephanie could almost feel Reggie slicking his hair back with his hand, he was really getting into the whole 1920's vibe this club was giving. It just made her grab herself tighter.

A couple walked through Willie and Alex, "Whoa." Reggie subconsciously pointed to the pair, "I thought these people were all going to be ghosts."
Willie pointed around the room, "These are all lifers."
"Oh uh lifer is actually..."

Reggie cut Alex off, "Alive people I was listening."
Willie wiggled his eyebrows, "But this is a very exclusive crowd, everybody here has paid a lot to get a sneak peek at the afterlife."

Stephanie scoffed, "Clearly. I don't have enough money in my lifetime to buy one of the dresses in the room. Forget wearing it." She jumped back as another live couple walked to them.
Reggie's eyes locked on the couple from a moment ago, "I always knew rich people did weird stuff like this."
