Chapter 27, The Past Makes Us Who We Are

It was Sasuke in the flesh.

"Sasuke!?!?" Sakura shouted, looking at Sasuke wide eyed. Naruto proceeded to jump back a few meters while a 'tsk' slipped out of the blonde's mouth.

Suddenly, a nearby Bush started to shake, as if someone was there. And someone came out saying,"Sasuke-"Kakashi stopped himself when he saw Naruto.

"Kakashi sensei!" Sakura yelled, almost surprised. "Sakura, listen to me. Get back from Naruto." Kakashi told Sakura, not taking his eyes of Naruto. "Hey! It's not I'm gonna bite!" Naruto yelled, with a tick mark on his head.

Kakashi looked at Sasuke with a bored and annoyed looked. "You too, Sasuke." the said man said. Sasuke just eyed him and stayed where he was, Sakura did the same. Pitch-black eyes clashed with navy-blue eyes.

All attention was put on the little contest that was going on. Suddenly, the two competitors' hands started to do their jutsu.

"Shadow clone jutsu!"

"Chidori!"

(If you're wondering why Naruto is not using rasengan,its just that I'm following canon)

Sasuke felt a hand on his shoulder and a familiar voice saying, "Take Sakura and flee.". He instantly recognise as his former sensei, Kakashi.

"Kakashi I-", "I don't want you to see what I'm about to do.". Sasuke's eyes widened, that could possibly mens only one thing,
Death.

Sakura heard the short conversation and knowing her teammate, he wouldn't obey this type of command. Kakashi merely produces his 'Lightling Blade' in his right hand. She looked at Sasuke and both noded their heads.

Kakashi felt arm restraining him from from moving, "Now!". Kakashi turned to see his former student Sakura,he turned back in time to see Sasuke and Naruto charging at each other with a rasengan and chidori.

As they head towards each other, Naruto chuckled to himself as good old memories seemed to pop out of nowhere.

|He could feel it.

Cold stares that seem stared right into his soul. He began walking faster, and faster and faster until he was running at full speed to where his feet took him. Naruto looked around at his new surroundings only to reliased he reached to the Hokage rock.

He walked over to the fourth head whom he didn't knew thanks to not listening to Iruka's lessons. The third head looked like the old man in his younger days but for some reason, he felt  familiarity to the fourth head. He layed down on the fourth face's spikey hair and stared off to the calming blue sky before letting sleep take over his body but got interrupted.

"What are you doing there sleeping?" the rude voice asked. Naruto turned to see Sasuke looking at him like a peasant. "Teme, none of your business." the blond said before returning back home with fury burning inside him. |

|Naruto stretched his hand but hesitated, and put his hand back down. He took a quick glance at the lone Uchiha eating lunch at a bench in the adacemy before strolling off. "Sasuke!" Naruto paused in his tracks, wanting to walk up to his fangirls and tell them to leave him alone but didn't. He slid his hands into his pocket then walked away.|

|"Teme, Shut up!" Naruto yelled, crossing his arms and turning his head to the side. "Whatever, dobe." Sasuke said before walking away. Sakura squealed before making attempts to get together with the black-haired.|

|"Sasuke!"the blond yelled. The Uchiha just nodded as no words were needed to spoke. They had to get their sensei out of the water ball or else, they die.|

'Despite all those years, I'm actually glad I got to meet you, Sasuke Uchiha.' were the unheard thoughts of an Uzumaki before two jutsu clashed into each other.

The flash of light reminded the two of the battle they had at the final valley. The two quickly regained their position before the world behind Naruto was distorted. Suddenly, a black portal appeared before Tobi came asking, "What's taking so long?".

The masked man looked at their 'guests' and a hint of hatred was in his eyes. Zetsu soon arrived at the scene. "Tell me, what do you choose? Kill or be killed?" Naruto asked, completely ignoring his 'parther's' question.

Sasuke looked at the said boy with his usual cold looks and replied with, "None.". The Uchiha swore he heard the Uzumaki muttered "interesting" to himself before telling him "I'll make sure to keep that in mind!" and flashed his famous smile.

"Let's go." He told Tobi, it was sudden after he said that, the expression on his face was gone. Tobi looked at Naruto amusingly and with confusion before sighing. Kakashi lifts his headband to reveal his famous Sharingan (to which Tobi slightly flinched at that went unnoticed to everyone) and instantly became to use Kamui on Tobi but was stopped by Tobi saying, "That won't work on me, Hatake." The world distorted again and Naruto, Tobi and Zetsu were gone.

"Let's go get the others." Sakura forced herself to say, still somewhat shocked of the event that just happened. They all walked in silence, a comfortable silence, at least for Sakura and Sasuke. When they finally reached the location of where Kiba, Akamaru, Sai, and Lee were at, no one was surprised to see them still asleep.

Sakura took a small bottle out of her pocket and gave her teammates the antidote. "W... What has happened?" Lee asked, still having the effects of the sleeping bomb on him. "Ughhhh...." Kiba began to woke up while Akamaru went to his side and beside licking his face. Sai woke up in a robotic way but slowly.

The teens began talking among themself, about ramdom things that seem to pop up in his head, suprisely Sasuke joined in the conversation. Kakashi smiled, knowing that he didn't need to protect them like their some kids who need protection,at least not anymore...

As they began to reach the village, they heard something rustle in the fresh leaves of a tree. Everyone looked at this with caution but soon eased when they realised it was a leaf shinobi, but tensed up when it was three root Anbu members. "Sai. What happened?" asked one Anbu, his voice sounded like your average gangster, expect monetonely. "I don't know."Sai said, keeping his fake smile up." Where is Lord-Danzo?"the Anbu asked again, anger boiled inside him, mixed with worry.

The same answer was given to the said Anbu. The Anbu on the far right took a quick glance at his teammates before looking at Sai saying," Show your tougue."his voice was soft yet terrifying and demanding. Sai obeyed the Anbu's order was showed hsi tougue. The Anbu members seemed shocked of what they saw, but disappeared soon.

"What's up with them?" Kiba asked, giving Sai a confused look. "It's nothing." Sai said, still having his smile up, Kakashi could tell he was not very comfortable with this topic. Kiba stared at Sai for a moment and began walking back to Konoha.

Sasuke now took every step with caution, he trust in Sai seemed to lower.
