I guess this is before Percy and Annabeth are dating?

God how I hate school. At this point the only reason I am going mis because of Annabeth Chase. Yes, it sounds unreasonable but if you met her you'de agree. She is the only reason for very guy at Garland high to go to school. She's the captain of the track team, debate team and everything basically every other education school club. You see I have a list, a

list of what I want in a girl, and Annabeth Chase exceeds this list.

1 she has to be blond

2 has to be athletic

3 has to be single

4 has to be smart

5 has to be funny

As you can see, once again she exceeds the list. Anyways, I'm hoping to ask her to the homecoming dance. Its only right for us to go together...me being the captain of the football team and her the track. The best athletes going to the dance together!

Right now she's sitting on the bench outside of the school, reading. Its like an out of this world experience. I'm working my way over. I'm standing in front of her. I buils up yhe courage. No words manage to come out. I feel like I'm going to throw up. I manage to push the words out finally.

"Annabethursuperhotgotohomecomingwithme,I love you!" I ramble gasping for air. She's looking up. She frowns. Oh no. She's gonna say no.

"Umm. Can you repeat that. Oh, and try slowing your words per minute rate down by at least 20." She scowls.

"Annabeth, I was just wondering if you'd like to go to the homecoming dance with me?" I say and my voice goes all squeaky at the end. What my voice cracking?  What am I 13, I'm 16 years old for god's sake! I can see her blush.

"Sorry, Charlie is it? I'm not going. I'm actually am leaving to go to a, umm special camp for the next two weeks. I am really sorry." I hear my nothing but  I'm not going and I'm leaving for three weeks. She doesn't like me, she hates me, I'm ugly is all I can think. I had been waiting for the moment she says yes only to be shot down like a duck in hunting season. I feel a tap on my shoulder. Who ever it is will be sorry, I feel like I want to smash a wall. That wall will be this person behind me. I whip my body around to be met with a bright smile.

"Hey! I'm Percy, I'm sorry if you're one of Annabeth's friends, but I'm going to have to steal her for about two weeks." I turn to Annabeth and raise my eyebrows, who is this guy? All of the sudden, She snaps her book shut and runs towards Percy. Are they dating?

" Charlie, this is my best friend Percy, I'm sorry but we have to go...nice talking to you." She gives me a sad smile, links arms with percy and walks to a minivan that read 'Apollo's transportation'. From a distance I can hear Percy teasing Annabeth about dates. She shoves him. Who the heck is Annabeth Chase, really?
