Day Thirteen
[Main Scripture: John 12:25-26]
The one who loves his life destroys it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards it for eternal life. If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:25-26 NET
One of the greatest things anyone will ever do is to serve Jesus. To serve means: To wait upon or to minister. In the same way that we spend lots and lots of hours studying, working or doing whatever we do with our lives, we should give Jesus our best.
Sometimes we are offered chances to serve God in the praise and worship team, or as a prayer leader. And even as preachers or whatever you may be offered at a church or an institution.
But most times we think about what we might get from it. It's really more about Jesus than about getting anything. Jesus should be the main reason we do the things we do.
In writing Christian books, Jesus should be at the center. In sharing the gospel, Jesus should be at the center.
Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him.
Romans 12:11 TPTThe bible encourages us to give our best to God. As an usher of the church, give Jesus your best. As an instrumentalist, give Jesus your best. As a singer or whatever you do to serve Jesus, give it your best efforts.
As you serve him, be glad and worship him. Sing your way into his presence with joy!
Psalms 100:2 TPTAs you serve him (Jesus), be glad. We can easily become grumpy when serving Jesus. But we should serve Him as excited beings who want to glorify the Son of God.
Jesus said: "Where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." There is honor for the one who serves Jesus. God adds value to your life as you serve Jesus.
It is a great thing to serve our master Jesus Christ. It is a blessing. It is exciting!
Prayer: Father we thank you. We bless your name. We acknowledge your presence. Thank you for who you are. We ask that you give us the strength to serve and to follow Jesus. May we find joy as we do it. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We pray. Amen.
