I SURVIVED
CHAPTER THREE
DEPRESSED, EMOTIONAL MESS

Violet's POV

I heard Raven tell Charles about my depression. I gasped, knowing all the others had heard. I ran out of Alex's arms, sobbing, and ran to my room. I locked the door once I was there and cried into my pillow. I heard the lock turning and knew Erik was picking the lock. I made a wall of vines so that even if Erik unlocked the door, he wouldn't get through, no matter how strong he was. The door shook, but it didn't budge. "Violet! Let us in! Please!?" Raven shouted through the door.

"Only Raven!" I shouted, taking down my wall of vines.

"No, boys, you stay here," I could here Raven tell the boys then she walked in.

"You shouldn't have told him about it, it probably only made him hate me more," I told him.

"I wasn't thinking, I'm sorry, I was just so angry," She told me. "Could you please forgive me,"

"You're forgiven, it's okay, it's just...." I trailed off. I was starting to have feelings for Charles and I didn't know why. "Why must he hate me?" I asked. Raven stopped, her eyes darting back and forth.

"Charles doesn't hate anyone, he just was pissed off about something somebody said," she told me. Then I remembered that I had to meet with Lily.

"I have to go, I have to go meet someone," I told her, going to the window.

"How are you going to get down?" Raven asked.

"Watch," I told her. I concentrated on growing vines up and when they reached my window I started to climb down. I looked up to see Raven just peering at me from the window. "You go out the door, and tell the boys I just want to be alone," I told her. She nodded, and I reached the ground. I waited just outside the door when it opened.  I stepped out of the shadows, expecting it to be Raven, it wasn't her. I came face to face with Charles. My eyes widened and so did his. I started to run away when he grabbed my wrist. He was pretty strong. "Let. Me. Go," I growled.

"Just hear me out!" He begged.

"Once again, let me go," his grip on my wrist tightened and I whimpered in pain, remembering that my cuts hadn't yet healed yet. His eyes widened when I whimpered and he pulled up my sleeves. His eyes fell upon my cuts that I had administered the week before.

"Why would you do this to yourself?" he asked. He was being unusually kind.

"Because, I'm an ugly, sassy, poor excuse for a prick," I spat, throwing his words back at him. Something flashed in his eyes, he same thing as earlier, hurt. He let go, and I stalked off, deciding not to wait for Raven. Then I saw a cat turn into Raven. Damn, she saw the entire thing. I ran into the forest, knowing she would follow, and that she would scream at Charles later. I sighed as I sunk to the ground, just then Lily came up to me. "Hey girl," I gave her a pat on the head. I heard Raven sit down next to me.

"I saw the entire thing," she said. I sighed.

"I guessed," I breathed out. Then I built a circle of trees around us that no one could see or hear or get through. "Now, I think we should have a little girl talk,"

"What?" she tilted her head to the side.

"You heard me," I smirked. "Now, you tell me who you like and I'll tell you who I like,"

"Seriously?" she laughed. And I nodded. "Fine," she sighed. "I... well..." I urged her on. "Alex," I let out a girly squeal. I never would have guessed that.

     "That's awesome!" I exclaimed.

"Now who do you like? Erik? Hank? Maybe even Logan?" she asked. I bit my lip, nervous to tell her that it was none of those.

"Charles," I muttered. She gasped, and started to laugh.

"That's a good...." she trailed off. "Holy shit you're serious," I nodded, and let a tear slip out of my left eye.

"Why does he have to be so mean to me?" I asked.

"He'll warm up to you, I promise," she said, then I realized something soft was on my cheek. I looked to my left to see Lily.

"We have to go, but I promise I'll visit every night," I told her.

"We'll visit every night," Raven corrected me. I laughed.

"You don't have to, but thank you," I smiled gratefully at her, and she smiled back. I took down my wall of trees and got up. "We should go, it's gonna rain soon," I said. She smiled, knowing I had a thing with predicting the weather. We walked hand in hand back to the mansion. I climbed my wall of vines back to my room, and she went in through the door. I then realized that I hadn't had anything to eat in days, so I walked into the kitchen, making myself a samwhich.

"Hey, you okay?" Logan came in.

"Yeah, I'm fine, what time is it?" I asked.

"About 8:30," he told me. I nodded and resumed eating my samwhich. "I'm sorry about Charles, I've never seen him like that," he said.

"I don't think you should be apologizing for him," I scoffed. "He probably set you up to do this, right?"

"He said you don't have to be a teacher here anymore if you don't want to deal with him, but you should stay for your safety," he told me.

"Tell him that I will teach here, as long as he is no longer a bitch about me," I said as I got up, going back to my room.

"Why don't you tell me yourself," Charles walked into the room before I could exit.

"Alright then, stop being a bitch about me and I'm still gonna teach here," I told him, stomping off down the hall.
