I SURVIVED
CHAPTER FOUR
THE BROKEN GIRL

Charles POV

My eyes widened in surprise as I watched her walk, well, more like stomp, away. I could completely understand that she was mad, but her saying that isn't what surprised me, it was just that Erik was right. She was fiesty, something I didn't expect to like in a woman, but here I was, being attracted to her. Then there was the fact that she was drop dead gorgeous. If only I would stop acting like a jerk to her then maybe I would have a chance.

"It's official, she is pissed," Logan said.

"No shit Sherlock," Alex grumbled. I only nodded and started walking down the hallway towards her room. "Oi!" Alex ran to catch up with me and planted himself infront of me so that I couldn't go any further. "You think we're letting you near her after that?" he raised his eyebrows at me. I just sighed and turned around, heading to my room.

Violet. I said in her mind.

What, Charles? You could practiacally feel the annoyance.

I'm truly sorry. I told her.

Just shut up, okay? I gasped when she blocked her mind.

How'd she do that? I asked myself. Then I realized that if she was smart enough to hack the Pentagon, like she did when she was eleven, then she was smart enough to block her mind. Of course. I sighed, and resorted to trying to break down her walls. Suddenly her walls broke down and I could tell that part of her mind had been blocked off before. Her memories came flooding into my head.
FLASHBACK
A thirteen year old Violet, already finished with puberty, it seemed, was only in her bra and underwear being touched all over by her father. Her mother had just left, probably to go sleep with some prostitute or have a one night stand. Violet tried to kick and scream but her father only growled and started to take off her bra. I knew I should stop, but then another memory took that ones place. A sixteen year old Violet was sobbing violently under a tree, a doe and her two fauns trying to comfort her. New memory again. The present Violet, with Raven in a circle of trees. "Who do you like?" Raven asks. "Hank, Erik, maybe even.... Logan?" Now I pressed harder, I really wanted to know the answer. But I was pushed out of her mind. Oh no. What have I done?

Ruined your chances with her, that's what. I told myself. Then I heard something from outside my window. Was that.... Sobbing? I looked outside and saw Violet running towards the woods, a blade in her hand. I gasped, she wouldn't....

"Yes she would, dumbass," Raven. How did she get in my room. I ran past her through the door and out of the mansion. I followed her into the woods. It wasn't that hard, I just had to follow the sobs.
"Stupid, fat, ugly, poor excuse for a prick, dumb, idiot," I heard as I got closer and I knew what she was doing. Before I could stop myself I was all out sprinting towards her. When I got to a clearing I saw a small amount of animals gathered around a sobbing Violet. My Violet, of course I don't have the right to say that after what I did to her, but I realized that not only did I have feelings for her, I was in love with her. My poor, poor, Violet was bringing the blade down on her wrists. I couldn't take it anymore, I ran towards her and tackled her in a bear hug.

"You are none of those things, I'm sorry I did that to you, I truly am, I just don't know how handle loving someone, I am truly sorry, just please, please, don't do this to yourself," Her eyes widened in shock and I realized that I had just admitted to her that I loved her. "I'm sorry... I..." I was cut off by her lips on mine.

"You apologize to much," she said when we pulled away. I leaned in for more but she put her hand in between our faces. "Na-uh, I'm still mad at you," she smirked and then we both seemed to realize something. I looked down at her wrists.

"Please, don't do this to yourself," I begged. I kissed all the cuts. "I love you, you're witty, beautiful, wonderful, and over all amazing, I don't understand why you would do this," I pulled her in for another hug and she started to cry again, she sobbed into my chest. It killed me to see her so weak. I cooed sweet nothings into her ear and patted her back. Then something soft touched my shoulder. It was a doe, not just any doe, I think it was... Lily? Violet's eyes widened and she seemed to remember something.

"You need to go," she said.

     "What? Why?" I asked.

"Raven's gonna be here any minute and she's gonna think you did something! So go!" she shooed me off. But before I was gone completely I gave her a quick kiss.

"I love you," I mumbled against her lips.

"I think I love you too," she smirked. Then we heard a twig snap a few meters away. Raven was here, but we couldn't see her yet. I nodded and left silently. When I got back into the mansion everyone except Raven was there, seeming to be waiting for someone. When I walked in they all glared at me.

     "What?" I asked.

"Don't go 'what'ing us, dude, seriously, you better not go breaking her heart," Alex said as I gasped. They had seen!? Oh no! Oh crap no!

      "I couldn't if I tried!" I defended. (A/N: Yes I just quoted that song)

"We will painfully kill you if you do," Erik threatened.

"I thought you just thought of her as another pretty face, Erik," I shot back.

"And we thought you just thought of her as another ugly face, but we were apparently wrong," Erik countered. I growled at him. "And you might just be setting her up to break her heart," he got up in my face.

"I love her!" I defended once again. Then covered my mouth, realizing the gravity of what I said. The others snickered.

"Love's a strong word for someone you just met, buddy," Logan pointed out.

"I'm aware," I grumbled, then just went to my room, with the others glaring at my back.
