For some unknown reason, Levi had the most sick leaves in spring. No one knew why, but you had an idea. It was an unusual one, something that many would not have come up with due to the man's stoic nature—even you had your doubts. But it was an idea nonetheless—one that would, if correct, would expose his softer side.

But no, its not over

Well live to see the day that I hope for

Levi had a weak spot for flowers. Specifically, cherry blossoms.

You glanced at the long, wooden bridge. On both sides, pink petals danced around in the sky—some had drifted down into the river and were serving as boats for by-passers. The passageway was covered with a flurry of pink and flashes of a dark brown jacket could be seen if one looked closely. You could have sworn there was the Survey Corps logo imprinted on the clothing article, which made your hopes soar until they could soar no more. You took a step forward, hesitant, afraid. His reputation for throwing vulgarities to workers that intruded upon his "space" was very well known. 

I still believe that well get it right again
Well come back to life again
We wont say another goodbye again
Youll live forever with me

It was risky...
But whatever, it was worth the risk.

Your [h/c] locks obscured your vision as you walked toward Levi—hopefully, you didn't plunge into the river and drown among the soft, dreamy petals. Your hand brushed away the irritable locks of hair—maybe if your hair mas shorter, things would be easier. But then again, you couldn't risk your hair.

You made your way up the bridge, trying your best to ignore the abyss of silk brushing against your skin. 

He looked so peaceful. You almost wanted to turn around and walk away—you would have to if he didn't whirl around to look at you. Your gazes met, locked, intertwined in a web of unknown meaning. It was exhilarating and so very unfamiliar, but you liked it. You enjoyed the peace and calamity that was flashing against his face, fighting for a spotlight.

I heard someday might be today
Mysteries of destinies
They are somehow and are someway

"[Name]."

It was just your name, so why did you feel as if you were falling off a cliff?

"[Name], what are you doing here?"

At first you didn't respond. You didn't hear the words coming out of his mouth, but you felt them. You felt them like butterfly kisses flying around your heart, tugging and urging you to step forward, and you obeyed. Your feet started forward until they were running,running toward what seemed like an inevitable fate. And as you were coming, you replied,

"Levi, you—"

For all we know they come tomorrow
For today my eyes are open
My arms are raised for your embrace
My hands are here to mend what is broken

And then you fell. You didn't know why, but you fell. And everything dissipated as you fell, getting distant, so, so far away. Your stomach dropped and your heart went with it, tumbling down until you couldn't see anything at all. It was so terrifying.

To feel again to walk on the face
I believe there is more to life
Oh, I love you much more than life itself
I believe I can change your mind
Revive what is dying inside

You didn't open your eyes to see the titan dropping you into its mouth. You didn't feel anything as it crushed your bones and broke you in half. You couldn't hear the cries of agony after they retrieved your body. The only thing you could feel was that silver gaze upon you, even as you were lowered into the ground where the dead slept.

You were being swept away by the arms of Death, and even as your love cried out your name, you didn't turn around to walk back. You couldn't and it hurt you so much knowing that you weren't able to. And as the tears finally fell down and as the rain left your grave dry and untouched, you whispered three words. 

"I love you."

If only you could say them to him. If only you were alive. Damn them cherry blossoms.
