"Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime. Lead me, save me from my solitude," I heard the phantom say. I wanted to run on stage to save Christine, but I was too scared. There were policemen everywhere and I didn't want to accidentally get shot at.

"Say you want me with you, here beside you," he continued. "Anywhere you go, let me go too. Christine, that's all I ask of—"

He was interrupted by Christine ripping his mask off. I was shocked at what lay beneath. His face was so horrifying, I unintentionally let out a scream. The phantom quickly ran off stage with Christine. I ran on to the stage to see where they went, but my eyes were assaulted by the corpse of Piangi. Carlotta rushed in front of me, crying over his corpse. I felt bad for her, but I couldn't console her, at least not yet, because if no one else was going to save Christine, I was. I rushed to the hallway where the phantom dragged Christine offstage, but ran into the Vicomte de Chagny in all the chaos. He was talking to Madame Giry about where the phantom was.

"Remember to keep your hand at the level of your eyes," Madame Giry said.

"But why?" The Vicomte asked.

"The Punjab lasso, Monsieur," she replied.

"Like this, Monsieur!" Meg demonstrated. "I'll come with you!"

"No, Meg! It's too dangerous!" Madame Giry exclaimed. "This way, Monsieur." She and the Vicomte left.

"Come with me, Meg," I said. "We are going to go with them, even if it is dangerous!"

"But Jeanne, mother said— "

"Do you want to save Christine?" She nodded. "Then we have to go."

We ran off, following the footsteps of the Vicomte and Madame Giry. We had to be careful to not be caught. We came across a lake, and there was no way across without having to swim. We quickly swam. We saw the the Vicomte behind the portcullis leading into the phantom's lair. He quickly noticed behind him.

"Who are you?" He asked us.

"Christine's friends. We've come to save her," I replied.

"And do Christine's friends have names?"

"I'm Jeanne Dubois," I said.

"And I'm Meg Giry," Meg said.

He was going to respond, but the phantom interrupted.

"Wait, I think, my dear, we have a guest!" He exclaimed.

"Raoul!" Christine yelled.

"Sir, this is indeed an unparalleled delight. I had rather hoped that you would come, and now my wish comes true. You have truly made my night," the phantom said.

"Free her! Do what you like, only free her! Have you no pity?" Raoul said.

"Your lover makes a passionate plea!"

"Please, Raoul, it's useless," Christine said.

"I love her, does that mean nothing? I love her! Show some compassion!" Raoul exclaimed.

"The world showed no compassion to me!"

"Christine, Christine. Let me see her!"

"Be my guest, sir." The phantom lifted the portcullis, and Raoul, Meg, and I ran towards Christine. She was wearing a wedding dress and veil.
