~~GEORGE'S POV~~

Staring at the girl in horror he quickly backed away.

Looking around the house quickly for the kitchen, he started sifting through a drawer of utensils as he mumbled incoherent words.

" George? What are you looking for?" George heard Clay say. Looking back at the other boy George started shifting through the utensils faster.

" A knife," George said simply as he took out a steak knife from the drawer.

Quickly stalking over to the red-head he was about to jump her when Clay grabbed onto the hood of his sweater.

" What the hell are you doing George?" Clay said a bit unsurely as George struggled against his grip.

" Let me at her!" George screamed as he looked crazily at Darby, his hand that held the knife trembling a bit.

" George stop," the red-head said firmly causing George to pause. The girl giggled.

" You're still as obedient as ever..." Darby muttered as she took a step closer to George.

" Georgie, look, I'm a changed woman, can we leave it all in the past and start over? I care for you," Darby said softly as she reached her hand for George's.

Making a low sound that sounded like a growl George tried to take another swipe at her with the knife.

Quickly taking her hand back Darby smiled.

The trio stayed silent as George stared her down.

" You haven't changed a single bit in my eyes, Darby," George said in fake happiness as he watched the girl flinch.

" George, I'm sorry..." The girl said as she cast her eyes downward. Fist clenched above her flat chest.

The boy paused as thoughts of doubt ran through his head.

The boy could forgive Darby because that's the way she chiseled him to be. But George would never forgive himself for trusting the girl. How he blindly followed her in the name of "love".

George let out a whimper as he crumpled to the ground.

How he let her get away with so many things with just an empty "sorry". He didn't want to do that again.

But Darby was changed this time, right?

She wouldn't do the same thing this time. Darby was...trustworthy. Maybe this time, they could both stay happy, as friends.

George dropped the knife to the ground feebly, causing it to scrape the wooden boards.

" You get one more chance Darby. But that's all I'm giving you," George said with a sigh as he turned around and gave Clay a hug. He needed something to comfort him that he made the right decision.
