~~CLAY'S POV~~

Noah Carpenter....an ex of his.

Clay couldn't break away his gaze from the other boy. Noah looked the same, still as good looking as ever.

He hated the feeling in his heart whenever he was reminded of the boy.

He left those feelings in the past, but then again, there was always a sliver of empathy for the black-haired boy Clay was never able to leave behind.

Their relationship was nothing special, Clay had confessed in his sophomore year to the junior. And from there they agreed to date.

His parents didn't mind, believe it or not, they were fine with the fact that Clay was gay. After all, "They loved their son for how he was".

He and Noah had....fun.

If fun included finding out that your boyfriend cheated on you for the fifth time.

They decided to break it off, both knowing that the relationship was becoming nothing but a label.

And that was all, really.

It wasn't life-changing or scarring--it was more of an itch that you always felt, annoying but nothing too worrying.

Clay lightly flinched as the golden-eyed boy looked up from his phone to lock eyes with Clay from across the street.

Noah's eyes widened in surprise as he lightly waved at the blond before quickly crossing the street.

" Clay, I haven't seen you in a while! How have you been?" The boy said as he gave a smile to the taller boy.

" You've grown a lot, what have your folks been feeding you?" Noah said jokingly as he lightly laughed.

Clay didn't respond, only staring at wonder at the boy.

The blond shook his head as he laughed.

" Nothing at all," Clay said as he scratched the back of his neck.

" Wow, got quite dark there my friend," Noah huffed.

As the two exchanged banter, Clay seemed to forget about George and Darby.

" Ah, want to go continue this talk over some coffee?" Noah offered as he pointed to a nearby coffee shop.

Clay paused to look back at George. The brunet said nothing, only giving the other boy a reassuring smile.

Returning the smile, Clay continued the conversation with Noah as they walked away.

~~GEORGE'S POV~~

George didn't really know the boy who was talking to Clay.

But they were probably friends, so George didn't mind. If Clay was happy, George was, literally.

" Wow, your boyfriend really left us like that," Darby's french accented voice interrupted his train of thought.

" I know that he has a good reason, besides, I know he wouldn't do that to me," George said as his eyes left the backs of the duo.

" You never can be sure George...just make sure he doesn't break your heart sooner or later."

George lightly flinched as he looked down at his feet.

The red-head next to him let a small smile escape from their face.

" But since he's gone let's go check out our old grade school!" Darby offered as he grabbed the brunet's hand, coaxing him to follow her.

George gave Darby a light smile before letting her drag him along.
