-"What doesn't kill me better run."-

With a stitched palm, he drove in his Rolls Royce to where he would be residing for the next 6 months.

A resort that was more like a penthouse

A resort that was more like a penthouse. Obviously, the King owned this establishment, hence the gold capital K door handles.

It was called "The Lux" and it earned that name with luxury embedded within every room.

He didn't even get to lay down on the king-size bed that looked too comfortable for its own good when his phone started buzzing obnoxiously.

The jet lag was catching up to him. He saw that it was Antonio calling him and he answered it with his jaw locked and his eyes starting to get heavy.

"Who'd you kill?" he monotoned, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Very funny but I didn't do anything this time," Antonio humorlessly chuckled.

"We have a mission tomorrow at midnight to terminate a minor cartel that stole a few billion from the King," Antonio informed him.

"Now we're doing dirty work?" Luca responded, massaging his temple. Agitation and annoyance formed in his chest.

Luca could hear Antonio snort in response.

"I guess so,"

After getting over his agitation, Luca eventually saw the pros of the situation.

He'd get to kill someone.

"I'll be there," he responded before he hung up.

He was left with untamed thoughts about this "alliance".

Would he get a chance to complete his plan before he was caught or worse...dead by the time these 6 months were over?

Only time would tell...

The next day at 11:30 p.m.

Luca, Blade, Oscar, Matteo, and Antonio hid behind a storage container as they scoped out the area of the cartel that had embezzled money.

Blade had picked this time specifically to kill them off because he knew this was when one of their shipments would come in. He was one step ahead since all the storage containers would be empty but they didn't know that.

But they weren't entirely empty.

They had bombs in them that were set to go off when they were opened.

They waited silently for the moment they all waited for.

Matteo caught his eye on something-or rather- someone. A woman with hair that was kissed by fire and blood. With eyes so soft, whiskey-russet with pale-freckled skin. Wine-stained lips that were arrow-shaped and pouty. A nose button-small and straight with her hollow cheekbones.
